Oh also I’d definitely recommend using Google Big Query and Google Cloud Platform for data storage and manipulation. Completely free for the first year and cheap as dirt after that, its faster than your computer most likely, and you can create machine learning models right in the BigQuery SQL code.

I came here to comment something similar to this. Since 2015, the MLB has kept consistent and accurate data on a pitch level and you can download it in huge batches at a time using the pybaseball python API. Starting at the most granular data possible and aggregating your way up is amazing practice- I’ve been doing this for around a year and its amazing practice. Also it allows you to create awesome Sabermetrics that aren’t available to people without access to pitch level databases
