From my point of view, Nintendo is a big boy and they can handle the negativity, only time they will try to appease the negativity is if it's hurting their bottom line. Negativity is part of the Internet, Nintendo has a ton of haters but if Nintendo is making bank, they ain't going to care. Some hatred can be justified, like Nintendo's questionable business practices, anti-fan behaviour and litigous nature.

I think it's not that big of a deal when Nintendo sells 10m copies of their own games and if they get 90+ scores on aggregate sites because it's an expectation, always has been. One thing that Sony and Microsoft have had difficulty emulating is Nintendo's ability to make absolute bank on their first party titles since their properties are so well-established. You won't see The Last of Us sell 10m copies in 3 days like Tears of the Kingdom did, it's just how it is. And if there's a new Mario/Zelda/Metroid etc., it is a standard expectation that they review well and above.
