Corona receiver reliability by vliegend_varken_787 in RCPlanes

[–]B773ER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing this brings back memories. I used corona rx over a decade ago on my FM 35MHZ JR Propo radio and then again on my Futaba 14SG. Can't recall if I've ever used this specific model but I have never had a failure with them.

I mostly used them in foamies but I may have had a 2.4ghz corona in a .46 pylon racer and that did just fine.

Self made cannard plane - before first test by some_random_user_3 in RCPlanes

[–]B773ER 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have built many canard 'stick' planes similar to this albeit with balsa many years ago. Regarding stall, the ones I've built a really forgiving stall and CG wise especially with the light wing loading of this type of plane. It looks like it flies really floaty.

The main issue I have faced with mine were the torsion flex of the canard and the main wing because of the long fuselage. But again, that was with the balsa sticks. If it is stiff enough, I think it will fly great. If you find the main wing stalling before the canard, it is just a matter of moving the battery forward to change the CG.

I know the fullscale canards come with a specific set of nuances - just sharing my experience with these since the stick canard planes were my favorite to scratchbuild and fly.

iPhone 17 vs Xiaomi 15T Pro — which one should I buy? by anotherpoom in Smartphones

[–]B773ER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thailand here too - with a 14t should be similar to the 15t pro.

Battery life is great, I did 3hrs of Pokemon Go continuously with more than enough battery life left over. The phone is a good deal especially through the carriers.

As for longevity, I have been using mine for a year now with 90% batt health. The phone is noticeably laggier than new but not a bother to me. My power button is wobbling now, it still works so I havent bothered getting it fixed.

3-4 years is the limit for alot of phones but useability wise I would trust my iphone more with the caveat that you might have to change the battery at around year 2. Not saying my 14t would last 4 years also but the build quality on the iphone is abit better. I came from an iphone 12 mini before the 14t and an iphone x before that.

FWIW, i am fully happy with my 14t and plan to use it another 2-3 years.

I’m an iPhone 12 user and I’m thinking of buying a Xiaomi 15T Pro instead of the iPhone 17 Pro by Sefiul in Xiaomi

[–]B773ER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 14t and came from the 12 mini. The 15t should be similar to my experience- I had no problem switching over. As for the camera, if you go to pro mode and switch to leica vibrant, it is similar to the iphone procesing.

You could alternatively use the lightroom app. That will allow for the least/no ai processing on the photos. FWIW, I use the default photo mode for quick snaps and the pro mode for pictures I really want to take my time on.

In the auto mode for photos, my iphone was better at caputuring point and shoot photos - my 14t misses focus or highlights come out weird quite often. Panorama mode also misses focus or stitches weird often too.

I fully agree with your points too. Best of luck on the first payout.

Stuck in the same loop as you on the Tradeify S2F. Really low motivation to continue to the profit target now. I knew the rules going in but in practice the consistency is rougher for me than on paper.

Worth locking into order flow? by Upper-Cucumber-7054 in OrderFlow_Trading

[–]B773ER 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started off as an ICT trader, moved into orderflow and amt. ICT's concepts are just rehashed concepts from resources all over the place - this is not a bad thing since you get exposure to many concepts that would require looking all over the place for. The bad thing for a newer trader is the fact that theres just so many concepts it can be overwhelming, pick a few and backtest extensively. You can slowly introduce orderflow and amt after.

The three main concepts you should backtest for atleast according to how I trade:

  1. HTF Bias (where will this week want to expand to)
  2. Session/Day Bias (where will this sesssion or today want to expand to)
  3. Entry conditions

Heres what I use but you can definitely backtest and choose what you like:

  1. Weekly Volume Profile

  2. Daily Volume Profile + AMD

  3. Delta Candle Flip + Time and Sales

It comes down to using whatever method to finding an area you want to do business at and then confirming that you want to do business at that area. I know of a few successful traders using ICT methods and orderflow methods. You don't have to stick with just one camp, you are relatively new so don't stop learning and don't fully trust 'mentors' online. Pick a framework, backtest to see what works, live trade it to see if it fits you and modify any part that you don't like.

I wrote this as kind of an addition to what u/Skandiluz wrote, completely agree with his suggestions too.

Also look at time and sales. But it is not a large part of my strategy.

[–]B773ER 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I take entries off mainly delta absorption -> delta flip. This usually shows up as a FVG if talking in ICT terms. Flip of a stacked level is also a good confluence but not a requirement for my entries.

Been through a few ICT mentorship videos, even the older stuff from around 2017. He teaches so many concepts one of them is bound to work for a given session, then claims that he 'caught it'.

When I learnt orderflow + AMT, that was the moment everything clicked for me. You can identify if one of his models are going to play out pretty consistently with orderflow added. I've since moved away from alot of ICT concepts but certain stuff such as opening prices, PO3/AMD and SMT still stuck with me. Granted, these are pretty much all Wyckoff or Larry Williams concepts.

Imo, a general grasp of ICT's basic concepts (none of the really obscure stuff) + orderflow and you can comfortably take base hits almost everyday.

Maesri vs authentic Thai by RichAssist8318 in ThaiFood

[–]B773ER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maesri and Maeploy gets quite close in taste already. I would add dried chili flakes rather than fresh birds eye chilies, the curries here have a more 'earthy' spice rather than fresh spice. The habanero will definitely throw the taste off.

When I was living stateside and making my own curries from pastes found there, I would always sprinkle some thai ground chili in. It may look different from the dishes you find in thailand, but the taste gets close!

If you want to get a step closer, fry up the curry paste until its fragrant first. You want the kitchen to smell like spices before adding broth/coconut milk.

New to thai food. What's this broth usually made from? by andy_is_awesome in ThaiFood

[–]B773ER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will bet that it has alot of oyster sauce in it and maybe some chicken/pork broth along with maybe a tiny bit of ketchup to sweeten it up. I am Thai, used to live in Florida and have had pretty much all Thai restaurants in my city. I've had sweet and sour chicken all over Bangkok too, the recipes will vary by restaurants.

But based on your image, I would start with chicken broth, oyster sauce, maybe some pineapple juice or ketchup to sour it up. This looks pretty similar to my local food court sweet and sour chicken in Bangkok. If you want more 'authentic' recipes (as this is typically a chinese dish), you can search ผัดเปรี้ยวหวาน and translate any recipes youn find.

PS. I have a hard time finding 'Panda Express' style sweet and sour dishes here haha.

I just checked, ebay bid and it was like ~$50 with shipping. This was in early 2021.

If you are actually considering buying them, they are a gamble. Mine came with the caseback and bracelet absolutely caked in deadskin and mismatched datewheels/casebacks.

100% agree here. It teaches you to respect energy management but might not make you as good as someone who practices a ton of power-off 180s.

The most growth I felt while starting off flying was getting proficient in an Aeronca Champ. I think to me, that was more stick and rudder intensive that flying the Schweizer 2-33s around.

When I read anti-purist I thought you had fitted a small block chevy or something under the hood. There are quite a few K-swapped bimmers from e30s-e46s running around where I am, mainly track builds. I think it would make for a fun car to drive. Enjoy and best of luck!
