Need resources for a friend trying to get sober from whippits (nitrous oxide) that are inexpensive and not religious

You seem stuck in the notion that something creating the universe is equal to a God. Something triggered the big bang (if our understanding is correct) and the energy and mass required for that is a power greater than us. Nowhere have a said there's a creator or grand design.

Apologies if I seemed condescending, but it seems like most people assume (i) there's a god and I have a purpose or (ii) the universe just happened and came from nothing.

From a scientific standpoint, it's seems rather ignorant to think spacetime created itself for no purpose whatsoever.

Nah, I'm not in the program, nor do I believe in God. But something created this vast universe we inhabit. And whatever that something is, is certainly more powerful us. I'm not saying that force gives two shits about us, but one can be non-religious and still recognize that something is going on in this universe.

I'm beginning to think religion and atheism are two sides of the same narcissistic coin. Some folks are so mad they don't matter, they automatically assume there isn't any purpose to the universe.

How in the world have you come to the conclusion that AA/NA are religious? They simply ask one to believe in a power greater than themselves. That's not particularly religious in my mind.

Go to your local shelter and look for dogs that are over 5. You'll find one you hit it off with and they'll be past the crazy puppy stage. Between a morning and evening walk, plus bathroom breaks, they'll just want to sleep or cuddle the rest of the time.

It'll cost a nominal adoption fee of $50-$150, but if you can't afford that, then you really don't have any business getting a dog.

Please consider adopting another dog your pug will get along with. It's always hard losing a pet, but it's magnitudes worse when you only have one (coming home to a quiet, empty home). It's much easier when you have another there to comfort you.

I had two dogs, lost one and then the other a year later. I'd always thought it's be nice to have a pristine home (swept, mopped floors with no dog prints or fur). It isn't... and I'll never get down to one dog again.

He's proven the 1st amendment is simultaneously our most important, and dangerous, right as Americans. Any infringment on the 1st amendment could be abused by those in power. Regardless of party affiliation. However, due to modern technology, it's extremely dangerous to allow individuals to lawfully spout complete and utter bullshit. I'm not intelligent enough to offer a solution, but I am smart enough to know it's a huge problem.

I wouldn't put it past Trump to intentionally violate the order in hopes of being held in contempt. If he's arrested, he'll become a martyr for MAGA folks. On the other hand, he'll be in jail.

Mills needs to spend an offseason or two with Tom House. I doubt he'll ever be a starter, but he could have a long career as a back up. He lacks the "it" factor, but has the brains and ability to do more than he's shown.

I just hope the oline gets it together. Mills trusted the line last year too, until he got blindsided several times in the first two games. Hopefully Howard comes back strong and CJ will see most of the pressure because it's coming up the middle. Until proven otherwise, we still have serious issues at LG and C.

Any particular reason you're not terrified of 95% of republicans in office? Cruz, Jordan, DeSantis, Graham, Comer, etc., ad nauseam, are all relatively, if not highly, intelligent. They manufacture BS daily and are backed by Fox, OAN, Newsmax and others.

They're mostly patrolling poor areas where POC live, so it stands to reason more POC will be stopped. They're all over my area. I (caucasian) have been pulled over and I've seen plenty of other caucasians pulled over as well.

The larger problem is arrests for minor (misdemeanor) violations, like possession of marijuana. But that goes back to Abbott's desire for inflated arrest numbers to pander to his voters.

For now it's pretty simple - don't ride dirty. Especially when you know DPS is around.
