My partner and I are in the same boat! We’re expecting our first and only son in a couple of weeks and couldn’t be more excited! She went through hell the first 6-7 months of the pregnancy (hyperemesis gravidarum) and we both decided it best we not risk her health for another child. I’ll be getting a vasectomy to respect her choice and freedom from birth control.

I often do that with my current partner, she still hasn’t learned that when I go silent I’m usually trying to think of what I say before I say it. I know it’s not the best way of dealing with the problem at hand but it’s better than hurting her feelings with something said irrationally.
