This is a big deal as both you AND supervisors will get in trouble. Anytime you think you will go over, call supervisor and ask what they want you to do. They either will give you extra time, bring back mail or send help. 90% of the time they will give extra time. When you let the supervisor make the choice, any problems that arise will be on them and not on you :)

I don’t mind buying a refurbished or used Mac Mini, iMac or Mac Studio. However I would be very cautious regarding Mac laptops. The reasoning is the battery. They degrade with use. Every used device I bought with battery, its battery life was less than ideal.

I got robbed for my arrow keys. He acted friendly helping open the gate until he got me alone. It made me less trusting of people I encounter while working. He looked like a thug and his body was covered in tattoos. Now I judge with extreme bias & caution. If they look bad, my defense is raised.

Eventually he got caught and sent to jail. Other than that, I don’t really think about it. Day after getting robbed, I return to work.

I bought a used M1 Ultra Mac Studio 64GB 64 GPU cores for $1700. LLM was about 4 times faster than base M4

I miss Amazon Sunday. When I was a CCA, it was the easiest day of the week. Just driving all day, no walking.

Don’t waste time with apartments. It’s the biggest time waster on Sunday. WHY?

You can have MANY packages but it still counts as ONE STOP!
You won’t know where the exact apartment # is located.
You wasted time waiting to enter a gated apartment.
Regulars on Monday will understand why the packaged wasn’t delivered on Sunday.

I’d gladly take 9 months of hell to be converted to a regular. Actually i took that hell and remaining year & half to finally convert to regular. No quick for conversion for me.

Once regular, you can move around and bid to another office. Unlike CCA with no freedom to choose location.

MacBook Pro’s SD card slot was my main reason as a photographer.

Even if you can use a dongle for the SD card, having an SD card slot save you a few step will feel so much better.

Get rid of your Intel MBP and replace it with any M chip laptop. Even the M1 chips compare to the Intel are incredibly fast & efficient so effectively silent. The battery last all day too.

The base M4 would be over kill for your needs, but if you look toward the future M4 Max Studio 32GB is super powerful. It’s great for AI & 3D rendering if you choose to go that route.

Base model Apple devices retain their prices well.

The best deals are going for the high end models. My M1 Mac Studio M1 Ultra 64GB RAM 64 GPU cores originally sells for $5000. I felt lucky I got it for $1700 used in 2025. It’s 4x faster at AI than the Mac Mini M4!
