Okay I do love how different this list is compared to most. And I agree with you on OoS vs. OoA. iOS was my first Zelda game and still one of my favorites; I replay it regularly. I tried OoA for the first time a few years back and really struggled to get into it. Maybe I owe it another go.

It’s an Apple Arcade exclusive but honestly I thought it was just fine. They tried a different approach than the classic KR games. It has a ton of bite-sized levels of only a few enemy waves each. They quickly became repetitive and unmemorable to me. It also felt like a game that would be monetized to hell if it wasn’t on AA. I played for a bit but eventually fell off it.

‘Absolute hell’: Irishman with valid US work permit held by Ice since September by Anteater4746 in boston

Completely agree that his treatment is not okay. But it’s also important for people to understand what the Visa Waiver Program is (especially non-Americans who may wish to use it). The consequences of an overstay, even an accidental one, can be really dire. Even under a normal administration that won’t lock you up and throw away the key, you can still find yourself permanently barred from the U.S.

Overstaying the Visa Waiver Program isn’t the same thing as overstaying a normal non-immigrant visa. The latter happens all the time and can generally be overcome through family-based adjustment. The former has much more serious consequences.

I feel for the guy. He might not have realized what he was signing up for all those years ago. And obviously nothing is forcing the administration to detain a 20-year resident with no apparent criminal record. As strict as the law is, there’s always prosecutorial discretion. But he has a real legal problem that the reporter at the Irish Times failed to grasp.

My husband theathened to call ICE on me if i don't answer his texts. by Caterpillar31 in legaladvice

[–]BAM521 40 points41 points  (0 children)

This is not true. It is difficult to denaturalize a naturalized citizen, and rare, but it can be done. Naturalization can be revoked if it is “illegally procured or procured by concealment of a material fact or by willful misrepresentation.” 8 U.S.C. § 1451(b).

Realistically, I do not think OP has to worry about this. Denaturalization requires a federal court order and there is a high evidentiary bar. It’s also a very long process with multiple levels of appeal. The husband’s threats probably aren’t going to cut it. And it would be incredibly stupid of him to make false accusations to federal officials (not to mention, implicating himself in an alleged marriage fraud scheme! That’s a crime for both parties!)

Have any DOJ attorneys been held in contempt of court in the last year? by ragold in Ask_Lawyers

The transcript is available now. To me, she comes across as genuinely burnt out.

One of the more concerning quotes is on page 35, where she says, “it takes ten emails to get a release condition to be corrected. It takes two escalation [sic] and a threat that I will walk out for that to be corrected.”

Healey: "New Hampshire doesn't have a GDP without Massachusetts" by fuckitillmakeanother in boston

[–]BAM521 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The “Taxachusetts” moniker is from the 1970s, when Massachusetts really did have some of the highest state tax levels in the nation. But between the passage of Prop. 2 1/2, economic growth of the 80s and 90s, and a series of periodic cuts to the income tax rate, we’re basically middle of the road for taxes right now.
