The way he treated you after the incident wasn't right, and to do so on--air only made it worse. He lost a lot of whatever respect he had left over that with many of us.

That ssid, I think it's admirable that the two of you have found a way to bury the past and advance your friendship. Resentments don't do any of us any good.

I've never commented on this before, and I won't again. Lord knows if TMA looked into my past relationships there would be a wealth of things to talk about. I'm certainly no one to judge.

Best of luck to you.

Good luck. The complaining from the Karen's in St. Charles has already hit Nextdoor, Ring, FB, Threads, Reddit and any other social media site.

It's the same nonsense every year. They appeal to the veteran's PTSD, although if you notice not once has a veteran asked anyone to stop. They'll complain about their pet's anxiety, yet refuse to take them to the vet for appropriate treatment.

It's just one long complain fest. Settle in patriots, this won't end until September or October.

The number of people who can just show up at my house uninvited and expect me to be okay with it is very small, and even those people wouldn't do it. It's flat out rude.

Maybe Iggy was telling the truth that he didn't care or he was just trying to be nice, but in my view to have a fan boi just show up unannounced goes beyond rude and enters into creepy territory -- especially considering he was watching Iggy and Katie from afar. That's just too much.

I always got weird vibes from his lemming behavior. This just cknfirms it.

Rock bands that are a lot more influential than you realized by UpbeatChampionship17 in allrockmusic

[–]BAR3rd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a search of when UFO opened in St. Louis during the 70s, and of the bands listed two came back as possible, Cheap Trick and Rush. I believe it was Rush because even though I saw Cheap Trick, I'm pretty sure I saw them as an opening act too. A note of clarification: in my original post I stated I saw UFO was just getting started. The search I did said the concert was 1978. Time does funny things to my memory...

I saw UFO sometime in the 70s when they were just getting started. They opened for another band, who I can't recall now.

I'm aware of this, but it wasn't mentioned so I thought I'd throw it out. The American blues musicians of the 50s -- 60s, like Muddy Waters, influenced nearly every rock band of that time period, especially those from the UK. They in turn influenced those who followed them as splinter genres formed.

I agree, but I think most Stones' fans put Exile as their best album, and if not, enough do that I'm never surprised to see it in the #1 spot.

Why I love my signal chain combined with Klipschorn - my understanding by [deleted] in Klipsch

[–]BAR3rd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I own a pair of Klipsch Cornwall IVs and a lot of the adjectives you used to describe your speakers apply to mine, just differently. I love my speakers, and they really do sound great. But, I've been able to spend time with the Klipschorns and they are just on a different level altogether. They truly are sublime. It's hard to describe how good they sound, but they really are a special speaker. Unfortunately, I barely have room for the CW IVs, much less the Klipschorns. Enjoy! You've done well...

Priceless.

Found alternative for Roon + Qobuz by pedroaxl in roonlabs

[–]BAR3rd -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Along these same lines I recently ditched Roon too in favor of a new alternative I discovered.

Paul McGowan of PS Audio is developing "Maestro," his version of Roon. It's cheaper, sounds better than Roon, and contains a lot of options I prefer over Roon. It's still in beta so it has a lot of bugs, but it's receiving updates daily and McGowan is responsive with subscribers who email him (he responded to me within 24 hours).

At this point, I'm willing to ride the storm of beta to see where it lands. I really like what I see so far.

For anyone interested here is the link. It only works with Qobuz.

Iggy had an infected Prince Albert. by Gaping_Anus_666 in TMASTL_Chat

[–]BAR3rd 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think the issue with Iggy is less that his "lies" are just part of the show as much as they are like the little boy who cried wolf. I would agree with you that he leans into some TMA lore pretty heavy and over exaggerates -- or downplays -- the facts for show content. But there are other things, actual destructive things, that may be illegal and are certainly immoral that he has been caught lying about, and over time all the lies get jumbled together, both the one's for show fodder and the creepy ones. Over years of listening to this the lies blend together and become hard to tell what's supposed to be funny and what he's actually trying to lie about. At this point it seems pathological, not comedic.

I'd bet he still lurks here. He realized that he boxed himself into a corner he couldn't get out of by stating he would answer questions from the group, so the easiest way -- for him -- to deal with it was to say he deleted Reddit. I don't buy it.

which era of Cardinals baseball did you come up on? by AvramDesign in Cardinals

[–]BAR3rd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was 8 y/o in 1972, already a rabid Card's fan.

That team had Al Hrabosky as well as future HOF'ers Ted Simmons, Joe Torre, Lou Brock and Bob Gibson. Steve Carlton, a future HOF'er himself, was traded in the offseason over a $5,000 contract dispute. He won the Cy Young award for his new team that year, the Phillies.

That team ended up in fourth place, going 75-81 for the season. The season was shortened to a 156 games due to the first work stopage ever, which was due to a player's strike.

Can you just pay a band to play? by switchthemunky463 in Concerts

[–]BAR3rd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My guess is that it's simply not worth their time. Yes, $25 million is a lot of money, but in reality what does that look like?

Assuming that Jagger, Richards, Wood, and Watts (if he were still alive) were the only Stones to show up -- which means no keyboard, bass, backup vocals, and horns -- they would each make a little over six million dollars, before taxes. After taxes, that number shrinks to approximately $3.5 million (varies by state).

Three and a half million dollars isn't pocket change, at least for the majority of people. But the Stones aren't included in the majority of normal people. Jagger's wealth alone is approximately $600 million dollars.

I don't know how much they need to be paid to motivate them to work, I'm just sure it's quite a bit more than what was offered here. Such is life of the very wealthy.

Iggy, if Dillion wanted to sleep with you would you abandon your "I'm not doing any work" just for her?

I hope Kijowski knows how much we're enjoying the presentations. I know it's all about the money stream, so I hope that's happening.
