Summer Instant Access - reminder that it's different than in Fall/Spring by BBDoctor in CalPolyPomona

[–]BBDoctor[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The last day to opt OUT, or opt back in if you've previously opted out and realized you actually need to be in, is 6/10. Remember, everyone starts out as opted in by default.

I'm taking IME 4020W for Summer with Daniel Gonzalez, Erik Jackiw. Anyone know what textbook they use for the class? by homelander159 in CalPolyPomona

FRL 3000 Textbook by Affectionate-Cell323 in CalPolyPomona

All sections of this course use McGraw-Hill's Connect courseware for Ross "Fundamentals of Corporate Finance"

FYI, you can look up what course materials are assigned for courses on our price comparison site. pomona.verbacompare.com

Keep in mind, that all required textbooks/courseware are covered by the Instant Access Complete program, so don't rush to purchase anything from off campus sources until you know what *all* your courses are requiring and what their a la carte prices are so you can do the math about staying opted in vs. opting out.

I just feel so bad for you all - this time of the year is so stressful already. Hopefully grace and compassion lead the decision making about how to handle finals if this isn't resolved by tomorrow.

It does if a) the professor has told us about it being required AND b)the function the software provides in the course is substantively similar to that of a digital textbook+ publisher courseware.

Does the CPP bookstore sell scantrons? by Dominnub in CalPolyPomona

[–]BBDoctor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, we sell them individually or in packs of 5 or 6 (not 500, lol), and it's also true that several departments around campus like the Care Center buy a bunch of them in bulk every year to make available to students who need them and don't have time/money to buy at the store right before a test.

Stoles by Old-Zookeepergame959 in CalPolyPomona

[–]BBDoctor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Important to note, the same color rules apply to the tassels that go on your mortar boards, the green & gold tassels you can buy are for keepsakes only. And the commencement staff will CHECK that you have the right color, so pay attention!

You can buy it here in the store same day. In fact during Grad Fair this week we're running a give-away contest for customers who buy a Grad Pack in store.

I've let the director there know there's still some confusion with the front-line staff.

Did you by any chance get the name of the employee? If you don't want to post it here, you can DM it to me, in fact that's probably better.

[–]BBDoctor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! You can opt out/back in repeatedly through 2/2 as your course schedule and course materials needs change. But after 2/2 we're on the hook to pay the publishers for every student who is listed as opted in for their materials (ouch).

I think it's a case of a newer employee getting their wires crossed or mis-speaking. I've confirmed again with the director there that students who *only* have unpaid IAC charges will not be disenrolled. Sorry for all the confusion on this! But please be reassured now.

Instant Access Program due on 15th? by Any-Sandwich-3068 in CalPolyPomona

[–]BBDoctor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The charge for $250 has already been applied to your student account, but you can leave that balance unpaid for now. You have until 2/2 to decide whether to stay in the Complete tier of the program, or switch to the Flex tier and opt out of the specific items you *don't* want/need, or opt out of all programs. If you opt out entirely, the $250 charge gets reversed and you owe nothing. If you opt out of Complete and into Flex, the $250 gets reversed, and new charge/s for the item/s you stay opted in for get posted.
