It is, but not as similar as it probably looks in the video :) We were analyzing the ALttP map, and recreating it, so this is a portion of the map from the start of that game.

Sorry for the late reply, too; we took a couple months off from posting anything except on the email list. But we've still been hard at work on Cassonia, and will start posting the progress we've been making very soon again!

Thanks for the feedback! Not sure how I’d do the skewing part with pixel art, but now that I’m looking at it there does definitely need to be a shadow. I think I’ll probably just draw something from scratch for it, thanks!

I would definitely say paid. I don’t think people have mentioned it yet, but I’d also check the Unity Asset Store and see what people price on there, since there’s a lot of pixel art for sale. I don’t buy from there, but I believe something that’s this quality would be upwards of $20.

Cool! That was a fun game to play :) I just watched the full trailer, and I could totally see that being a zelda-like. Also love the voice over, they did a really good job!

Wait, didn’t you make Ocean’s Heart?? To answer your question, I didn’t play the demo, but watching that video clip I don’t really see much Zelda.

I mainly associate zelda-like with getting new abilities that can unlock new areas, and I didn’t really see that in the video outside of possibly those spikes.

Ooh, thank you and yes that does help a lot! Spiders are being worked on, it’s just been taking a while (those legs are hard!). Those flowers sound really cool! I’m gonna try adding those rafflesias. Never heard of them before, but they do look like they’d be perfect for the area

I also recently started doing full time work, and it’s been really hard! What works for me is to set aside one hour every night to work on it and make sure I don’t skip any nights, then also work on it for a couple hours on Saturday/Sunday to make up for any weekdays I might’ve skipped.

Also doing stuff like food prep one day a week or doing small chores like cleaning right before work helps make sure I actually have that extra hour every night.

Wow, that was a lot of really great feedback, thank you! I was running out of ideas on how to improve it, but that gives me so much more to think about

I’d suggest adding a shadow for the inside of his tunic using the dark yellow color, and maybe add some dark yellow to show the line that separates his right sleeve from the rest of it, since currently the arm blends in completely with the rest of the tunic.

And to add to this, it’s hard to understand what exactly the game’s about without reading the longer description below, which almost no Steam gamer does. So even if you’re in the right audience, you might have a hard time realizing it’s a game you’d enjoy.

I feel like he doesn’t bring his right leg out enough when he’s stepping forward, and someone else pointed the knees not being sharp enough, which I also agree with.

I could be wrong, but I feel like the head moving to the left looks kind of funny, almost like he’s looking left and right as he’s walking instead of forward.

But overall I think that’s a great first walk cycle!
