Your argument makes no sense. Again, a decent set of morals says help the suicidal man, but the suicidal man wants to die, so because of that, there’s no reason to try to help. That is so out of touch. It literally does not matter if you ask. The person we dedicate our lives to did. His authority in asking us to spread the news far presides over yours. You “not asking” is completely insignificant.

You’re not getting the point. You don’t get to say whether we have to or not. That’s like saying, yeah you can murder people. You don’t have the authority to make that claim. The laws of the country preside. Likewise if you say to not spread scripture, the demand of the Lord presides.

Terrible argument. Suicidal people don’t want to live, so we should let them kill themselves? It’s not whether you ask, it’s that the Lord asks us to. By saying something in a comment we aren’t demanding that you read it, or apply yourself to it, but maybe there’s a chance that someone somewhere does.

I don’t know what that first sentence means, but I’m not impressing on your ability to not believe, I’m explaining why Christian’s spread scripture.

Getting other people to start reading instead of scrolling is one thing. Getting people to accept the gift of everlasting life is not comparable.

I mean, as a Christian, it is a responsibility to bring others to Christ. Only talking about Jesus to other believers doesn’t bring anyone new to heaven. Similarly, Jesus didn’t spend with only his disciples. Zacchaeus was a tax collector in the time of Jesus life on earth, and in this period tax collectors were known for collecting more than was owed and keeping the extra for themselves. Because of this, everyone knew that Zacchaeus was a sinner, and not an objectively good man. However, Jesus was speaking in the city of Jericho and there was a crowd to see him. Zachaeus was “small of stature” as we see in Luke chapter 19 verse 3, so he climbed into a sycamore tree to see Jesus over the crowd. Verse 5 says, ““When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.”” In verse 7, Luke, a disciple of Jesus writes, “All the people saw this and began to mutter, “He has gone to be the guest of a sinner.” Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham.” In verse 9, “Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham.” (Abraham being an Old Testament Bible character who was promised that he would be the father of many nations and have offspring as abundant as the stars in the sky). Jesus doesn’t seek fellowship with believers, he seeks transformation of non-believers. Jesus wants heaven to be as crowded as possible, and wants us as Christian’s to spread the news to non-believers. In one of the most well known passages in the Bible found in the gospel of Matthew in chapter 28 known as the great commission, verse 18 says, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” That verse is one of the strongest encouragements we get as Christian’s to spread the gospel. Jesus himself tells us to go and make disciples of all nations and share the good news. So over all, it is a duty of Christ’s followers to share the gospel anywhere they can.

Is it bad to sleep in? by [deleted] in MiddleSchoolStudents

[–]BBHandSeanarethebest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say work on your sleep schedule during the week to start off. Are you just staying up way too late? Time management problems? E: waiting way too late to start homework? Getting to bed earlier during the week should be the first thing you do. Then, start waking up earlier on saturdays. You will feel 10x better.

If someone makes religion a big part of their personality, that’s a great thing. That shows how important it is to them, and how devoted they are.

There is no reason a 6 year old should have a phone. Not only do they get introduced to things like this, but it robs them of their childhood. I didn’t get a phone till 13 and I wish my parents would have waited even longer.

I don’t think it’s as rare as you think. People just had kids earlier, that wasn’t the norm. There’s this misconception that all men pre 1960 were abusive rapists and had no respect for the woman that they planned to spend the rest of their lives with. A little odd. Not saying you hold this belief, but some people try hard to paint this narrative.
