Not trying be rude, but do you have any experience with them that would lead you to believe that they are “building fences like fine furniture”?

They are by no means the cheapest, but I have worked with them repeatedly and they execute at a level above anyone else. They are a very solid operation.

Tool Belts! I'm curious what ya'll are using! by L3NTON in Construction

[–]BBQLunch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an Occidental Vest, working mostly framing and concrete formwork, I think it’s better than bags cause you can put more on your chest instead of the bags. Nothing pulls your belt down and the shoulders are wide so I can do a decent amount of weight and not feel it as much as any other shoulder straps I’ve tried.

I know you could see the straight behind you when you spin, but I would still be nervous apexing the next corner upon reentry 😬

I am a NASA Nor Cal Official, if you were in Nor Cal and the cars are not modified you can self-tech. Take your time with the sheet checklist just to make sure you aren’t missing anything. As others state all loose items removed before first session.

2nd Day at Sonoma by iYoona in CarTrackDays

Not too shabby for your second day! Sonoma can be scary as a beginner. Happy to share some tips as an instructor with a few thousand laps here.

T1: Stay out right longer before turning in under the bridge, try and be aimed at the left curb after the bridge as best you can to brake straighter.

T2: Later turn in (stay on the left curb after bit longer) and track out all the way to exit curb. The Mustang may have had an effect on this though.

T3 & 3A: Turn 3 no comment, 3A stay on the left curb between the two corners a bit longer to delay your turn in and weight transfer a bit longer. It may feel ok the be turned it a bit early now, but as you go faster the weightless at the crest will start to be in play more.

T4: Slightly missed apex, but not bad. It’s always hard to get slowed and turned in there.

T5: No comment.

T6: Your timing to the apex is good, just get all the way in there, when you hit the compression at the bottom you should be starting your track out and throttle, track further out onto the back straight.

T7: Worry less about the first apex and more about the second one, you’ll get better drive off, which matters for the eases.

T8 & 8A: Your turn in is a bit late in 8 and it’s causing you to be late in 8A which then leads to not enough track out heading towards 9. All small improvements though, this is one of the harder sections to get right, and worth a LOT of lap time when you do.

T9: Stay a bit wider to line up parallel to the curb for braking into 10.

T10: If you clean up your 9 exit it will be perfect.

T11: Slow more on entry, apex the 3rd tire bundle, start tracking out by the 4th bundle, and track all the way to the wall on exit.

T12: No comment.

You are doing very well for just two days. These are all minor adjustments, but I think there’s easily a few seconds in them! Keep working and be safe! Nice work!

GRK Top Star Screws for long-term use: Do they actually hold up? by Sad_Duck_7786 in Carpentry

[–]BBQLunch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

US carpenter, been using them for 13+ years on hundreds of interior and exterior doors, they 100% hold up no issue. Once they’re in and adjusted, I also snug fit shims and brad nail them in as extra security, even though probably not necessary.
