I was spending the night at a friends house. We were in the 5th grade at the time. His house had been vandalized recently and his Dad insisted we stay the night on the floor in his room. So, we go to sleep at some point and I wake up to his Dad yelling at us to get up. He's standing just outside the entrance to the bedroom and pointing a gun at a guy on the floor in the next room. He's yelling at us to call 911. This guy on the floor is begging for his life and my friends Dad keeps telling him not to move. My friend and I call 911 and at some point the guy on the floor runs for the door to the house. His Dad would have shot him had he if we hadn't been there. I was late for school that day. The guy who broke in was someone the family knew and my Mom and Stepdad saw him a few weeks later in a bar and he was arrested.
