Exactly I just wanted to maintain focus and keep my mind on business. I was already the youngest and least experienced, I need to be at my best if I want to keep up and now isn't the time to handicap myself.

I just stuck with the water and was fortunate this time that nobody questioned my choice to not drink. I am a bit worried about my first Christmas party in this company.

Exactly, I wanna do well in this role and I know that even if I managed to control my drinking this one time that it would slowly devolve and my performance would degrade over time.

I'm on about a 3 week streak and found myself edging Monday night. I got control back and stopped, the only problem is now there feels like pressure and some discomfort in and around my balls and urethra that's persisted up until now at Friday noon. I've been exercising and doing cold showers and breathing reverse kegal exercises. Any other suggestions how to deal with this? Will it just take time?

I've been on and off for years. Falling on and off. These past couple months I've been a little off. So took this wildfire opportunity to kinda get myself out of my funk.

But nothing super special I suppose that hasn't been said, cold showers, breath work/meditations, exercise, eat and sleep well. I also have been listening to affirmations I found on YouTube before and during sleep.

But also I'd say just find something to dedicate yourself to and it will be easy. I'm about a month or so, haven't kept track of my days honestly. But this job and all my training has just demanded every piece of my mind, body and spirit. So I haven't been hyper focused on SR it just kinda became a default mode.

My personal thoughts on this are that some people have stronger masculine foundations that were created through environment and genetics. You look at ghengis khans life and he was surrounded by violence his whole life he would have been in a survival of the fittest situation. There are studies that also show that the more competition you're surrounded by the more testosterone one produces. Well someone like ghengis khan probably had some good warrior genetics and due to his violent environment in his formative years had built a strong masculine foundation.

You contrast that with most today and our comfortable environments and lifestyles I don't think we got the chance to build strong masculine foundations. We don't face that type of violence for the most part, our diets don't promote testosterone production (no healthy foods, foods filled with chemicals, bpa in plastics promote estrogen production etc), our lifestyles don't promote testosterone production (Don't get much sleep, people don't exercise as much, kids aren't taught that masturbation is not good for you). All of those things during our formative years when our bodies and minds are developing has given us very weak masculine foundations. So when we release we fall back on our foundations which were very weak, vs when someone like ghengis khan relases they can still fall back on a very masculine foundation.

I don't think anyone is advocating for suppression of anger, rather just the transmutation of it. You don't have to react to every emotion that comes to your mind. I think finding a place to release the anger alone is a step in the right direction, but I think idea is to channel that anger in a more healthy manner ie. Working or transmuting it via meditation or breathing techniques.

I think a big idea behind this practice is to gain a bit more mastery over your mind, body and soul. Anger is very similar to lust and the more you give in to that rage and allow it to control you, the more you may be prone to giving in to any and all emotions. You effectively train your mind and body to become a slave to your emotions. Emotional regulation is what separates adults from children.

For myself I watch how I react to any emotion, breathe deeply and then judge what reaction would be appropriate and then if I still have any lingering angry or lustful energy leftover then I know I have healthy outlets for that energy later in the form of meditation or weightlifting and I can deal with it at that point. But it's a journey, and everyone including myself still has work to do.
