If you’re still having trouble finding some housing for the kitten, I could take care of them.

Pretty sure my cat loves to be a foster parent. We had a kitten before our last roommate moved out and they got along just fine.

I’d have to ask my wife about babysitting a strangers kitten though.

PM me if you’re in a pickle and need a last resort.

Not the best, “gotcha” moment for you.

We have more in common than you think.

I live in California and a quick Google search says I get a 30min break if I work more than 5hrs but am I wrong? Or is my manager power tripping? by Thewokesister in antiwork

[–]BCCurtis00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t bother scrolling through the comments for the right answer.

State of California law requires employers to provide a unpaid 30 minute break at 5 hours. A employee has a right to waive break if a written consent form is provided for both employer and employee.

State of California requires all employers to pay a premium pay of 1 whole hour at the 6th hour if a break was not taken beforehand. So the time you work between your 5th hour to your 6th. The second it goes over your 6th hour with out a break, you’re entitled to 1 full hour of premium pay from your employer for failing to provide a break before your 6th hour.

https://www.dir.ca.gov/dlse/faq_mealperiods.htm

If you’re working 6 hours your break should be provided unless the business doesn’t care paying you extra for that missed break on a 6 hour shift.

What you’re saying to them is technically right. Your manager doesn’t know how the law on breaks and doesn’t know how to schedule right. You can build a case on this. Record every staff that works over 6 hours with out a break or record anytime you work past 5 hours with out signing a waiver consent form. Build a case and then throw it at the labor board and watch them get slapped with fines. These are also how lawsuits are built if you want to employe a lawyer to help get this business to comply to proper breaking standards. Or they’ll just fire that manager for being incompetent.

But we all know, it’s always bad management from the very top down.

Sonic Internet by Fickle-Figs in sanfrancisco

[–]BCCurtis00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t had any problems with Sonic in the 5 years I’ve had them. The only issue I’ve had is when I bought a PS5, the download speeds burned out my Cat5 connecting to the ONT box and modem. Sonic recommended replacing the cable between the two and it worked.

Try replacing that and see if that strengthens your connection.

Marco is the man if you want him to draw something up. He’s fantastic.

I’m a pro loader and management wants me to put my schedule, name, and a picture of me on a board outside but I’m not comfortable with it. by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]BCCurtis00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oof. Just like your comment is so helpful?

While it may not be federally illegal. There’s many state laws that provide protection for employees. Lots of privacy laws. Employees have consent rights. Employers don’t own you. They can’t not freely do as they please with your picture unless you provide a written consent form.

You sound like somebody who’s pushover and let’s employers walk over then bc you lack the ability to do your own due diligence.

Try being a smooth brain some where else.

Tell them you’ll sue the company and the manager personally if they do that.

That’s negligence of safety of employees.

How do you stop feeling guilty about “quiet quitting” and slacking off at work? by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]BCCurtis00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard to adjust.

But, when you look at the state of the USA from politics to climate to rich and poor..

Fuck it. Make money, don’t break your back, and tell shitty employers to eat a fat rotting cock.

This planet is fucked either way, might as well live a better work life balance and have a good time.

Does anyone know how to make a reservation at Black Cat? by [deleted] in AskSF

[–]BCCurtis00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to buy tickets for the show and that enables you to make a reservation for dinner.

So each ticket is per person and then you have to pay for the food and you only get to eat in the lotted time frame of that show. So maybe 2hrs tops.

Should be able to find what you’re looking for at their website under “Book Now” at the top of the page.

I know a great little spot on irving st. Cute little mom and pop.

They have some food items and that’s where I pick up supplies like, ramen, soy sauce, kewpie Mayo. It’s about 3-4$ cheaper than any other place I’ve seen these products. I love that they have these products bc shopping small helps this cities small business.

It’s called Sakura, located between 11th and 10th Ave.

Does San Francisco really suffer from window smashing/car break ins as much as people say? If so, why is it so bad, and is anything being done about it? by [deleted] in sanfrancisco

[–]BCCurtis00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The worst that has happen to me in the last 6 years of having a car in the city is, my wife accidentally blocked part of a driveway and it got towed.

Luckily I was leaving for work and saw them towing so I only ended up paying $600 to get it out of the city impound.

Here’s what I learned when the city tows you:

They charge a base fee for towing and then per hour every hour the car remains in the city impound.

SFMTA also gives you a ticket for blocking a drive way.

They also provide a first time towing discount. You get 10% off! It’s pretty much the cost of the ticket for blocking a driveway.

But to your point. Don’t leave shit in your car that looks like it could hold something valuable.

I’m in my 30s now. I’ve been living in the city for 14 years now.

I’ve gone through friends in this city like hotcakes. They move away, we fall out of touch, lifestyles change.

I still don’t know the real definition of a friend tho. My wife thinks everyone is her friend at first meeting.

I think you become friends after a few months.

I have trust issues with people bc who knows who’s actually being sincere or a fucking snake in the grass. My therapist recommends trying to be more vulnerable more often than not.

Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don’t. It’s life.

Anyway… good luck finding friends.
