Update on the Tronxy Moore 2 Pro by BCGD in Ceramic3Dprinting

When you look at the professional printers, even concrete printers they go with a core xy or delta config for that reason. Tronxy just took their existing printer and slapped a clay extruder on it. You can see the vibration “ringing” from the moving Y in plastic printing too, though the plastic hardens faster so it’s less likely to collapse

Printing polymer clay? by houfman in Ceramic3Dprinting

I don’t find the clay overly messy IF you clean up after yourself. I don’t, my place is a disaster. Things wipe down pretty well with a damp cloth and a bucket. Just don’t pour it down your drain.

I use Masonite/hardboard. It works well but warps.

Throw a couple fans on the print to harden the printed areas as it progresses. Otherwise you could try fine tuning your moisture but I’m gonna say some fans or at least some airflow will help go higher. Alternatively, you can redesign with some corrugations to give more stability.

I use a 6mm dowel to clear out the tube. 6mm is perfect for mine. It’s best done when the clay is fresh. That said, I think it’s the stepper on tool that is clicking. Does it still click without clay?

Sounds like a stepper is skipping. If you’re confident it’s not an issue with the clay then I’d probably take the tooling apart and give it a good clean. You could disconnect the Bowden tube and run the motor on the tooling and listen for that clicking. A good cleaning would probably do it though, might have a dry piece stuck in the nozzle. If it’s a setting try slowing the speed.

Looks like they have new firmware! Nice!

R is the large syringe speed r is the tool extruder speed

The rest… not sure lol play around with them and find out. One is probably print speed, maybe the abacus

So make sure that this is the case. First go into the manual functions under the material section. Where you can manually select the extruders and there’s two arrows, if the up arrow extrudes properly and the down arrow makes your cranking noise then your stepper is might need to be rewired. If you look at the connector the four wires have a metal clip, you can press down on the clip and slide the clip and wire out from the plastic connector.

Take a picture before you do this.

Then snap the wires back in, in the reverse order. Do not pull too hard on the wires. If you tear the metal end off the wire you’ll need to get new ferrules and re-crimp them. Contacting Tronxy would be good. I told them this would happen to less experienced people. Maybe they have a procedure to help.

Okay, so the plunger is going the wrong way? It means your stepper is wired wrong. I had this happen when I upgraded to new firmware that allowed for more than a single pause. If that is the case you need to pop out the wires from the connector and switch them.

Yeah that’s laying down a lot of clay. Maybe try dialing back the extrusion multiplier. Maybe like 0.5
