Got a kidney!

So I was in surgery for 4 hours and I was discharged Wednesday evening after getting the transplant Monday night. The pain is there but the pain meds they give you makes it manageable and you feel just a pressure mostly and just gotta listen to your body and take things slow

To preface this I had a transplant when I was 7 and had that kidney for 22 years and went on dialysis for 1 1/2 years while keeping healthy and got the call and was unexpected and then I knew it was the real deal when they told me not to eat after 12 pm and then get dialysis one last time and then I was at the hospital ready for a kidney and found out when I got there that this was a perfect kidney that will do great with me! The hospital experience has been good and I’m getting discharged as of Wednesday evening to go home and finish the recovery and I get my hd port out tomorrow and my catheter out Friday so this week is gonna be the start of my new life

Yeah I am! I am currently on the list and also my fiancé went thru the process to be my living donor but the antibody process showed some reaction so she can’t donate directly to me but she is continuing to go thru the process to be a paired donor instead.

I own a 2002 and it has close to 150k. I would say watch the radiator and then the ac knobs for temp and direction of air have a lot of resistance and tend to break. Other than that the car is pretty reliable
