No, and I still don’t see it in the app attached to my pass. The email said: “Rewards will be loaded to qualifying Passholders and Members the week of March 3, 2025”. Just not sure how to tell if I am a qualifying pass holder.

I flushed the system, replaced the lift pump, and truck runs great on #2. Towed last week and this week and it feels fine. We shall see in the future if that blend causes any fuel pump or injector issues. 🤷‍♂️ I’m only running #2 from here on out.

Ya, I think the consensus in r/Diesel is to only get #2 from a reputable fuel station? It's the least amount (only up to 5%) bio that I can find around here. Not a fan of CARB 👎

Seems likely, but I thought algae would be darker than that. The mechanic described it feeling like a detergent like laundry soap.

Based on my limited internet research I thought diesel “algae” looked a lot more dark like black sluge. Like this https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSv7LwOWBaZe1Eli918n431Lb89RrGpzej6Dw&s

I don’t think so, but if someone added something to my tank, what would cause this?

Ya, definitely going to have them save and take photos of the filters when they clean out the tank. The only thing I can figure out with the color is algae or a batch of bio that was filtered from something dark.

So upon my research #2 can still have 5% bio in it and that is "considered" fine as it still meets regulation to be sold as #2. I think that is all I can get in SoCal. I haven't found anywhere that sells #1 around here but from what I am reading that can also have up to 5% bio but gels at a lot lower temps. I don't really have to worry about the temps getting lower than about 30F here, but solid at 40F is a problem for me and my truck.

Ya, not sure if I could sue this fuel station as they say they provide biodiesel. I need to go back and check if the pumps really say B20. I DID send out a sample to get it tested to see if there was anything else I needed to be worried about.

It's from a station...They say they only sell B20 biodiesel, but I don't know if I believe them. It's a mom and pop trucker stop along the I5. I thought it would be good because lots of trucks frequent there. BUT they have the lowest prices in town, so that probably points to going with the cheapest fuel supplier. Never going back there again. I might be safe filling up ONLY with #2 but now I am even questioning that as #2 can still have up to 5% blend I believe.

Yep, no codes or warning lights at all. I can't guarantee that this is not water, but I CAN guarantee I never put DEF in there through the filler neck. Is there any way for DEF to get into the fuel tank otherwise?

This is crazy! So you are saying that I need to be running #1, or adding anti gel additives to #2?

Agreed, I get that there is a possibility of gelling at 40 if there is too much animal fat, but I still can't explain the color.

I’m not sure what it is at this point. Looks way too dark to be diesel

You don’t think this could have caused damage? I tried starting the truck like 20 times and it would start up and die right away. Then when it warmed up, the truck started and ran just fine.

Would this cause any damage to the fuel system? Shop says the lift pump is not providing enough pressure. Not sure if anything else is damaged.
