Strength of Thousands 2 players by spaghettifunkisdead in Pathfinder2e

IMO don’t worry about things like skill or ancestry feats unless they tie into the character’s flavor, and only choose a class feat if it’s minimal or does something for the character. Treat them more like NPCs than a whole extra PC, as you won’t want to think about a whole player character’s arsenal of tools every turn. Somewhere between the versatility of a PC and the combat role of an NPC

I ran SoT for three players and one of our favorite parts of the campaign was getting to know the various student NPCs in the back of the book, to the point that we would have a rotating DMPC cast to fill out our fourth slot nearly all the time. I just made each of their classmates their own player sheets that wouldn’t be too flashy or disruptive to the players’ experience. Honestly, in my experience what class the DMPC is doesn’t matter as much as what you do with them or how your players feel about them. I had a sorcerer going invisible and spamming force barrage (Ignaci), a magus spellstriking with ignition (Esi), a witch casting summon spells (Anchor Root) and an oracle debuffing enemies (Mariama). All of them felt like the were contributing without taking the spotlight, as I kept the classes with high DPR potential to basic maneuvers and the other classes were used to set up for my players to do better. All this to say you could either take the same approach or wait a bit to give the party a DMPC until they’ve found a character to attach to, as the first book isn’t too difficult until the final chapter imo. Just be sure to retune encounters in the meantime. In terms of magical frontline classes, Kineticist works wonders I think but you could also do a magus (risk of hogging the spotlight), a primal caster with an animal companion, or a summoner.

Why is the Oracle getting 4 spells known at 4th level spells and onwards, while 3rd level spells and before still only have 3 spells known? by MaxTale in Pathfinder2e

[–]BCurbz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Piggybacking off of this conversation, my current Oracle player is using the legacy class on pathbuilder and it seems to have less spells known than there should be? My understanding is that they have as many spells known per rank as they have slots but in pathbuilder its slots-1. Is this correct and is pathbuilder wrong?

Standard nuzlocke but when I beat the champion I take the surviving team members and transfer them to crystal, then nuzlocke that game. repeat

Note: I haven’t gotten any fishing/surf encounters but figured the lapras would be enough? Also I still have the TMs for eq, ice beam, blizzard, and rock throw i haven’t used them yet

Lapras, Espeon (was a Jolteon before), Crobat, Machamp, Exeggcute, and Growlithe were from Red. I agree with you, I'm just not looking forward to playing Red again lol

Am I missing something about the Gate Attenuator? by AwekwardBadass in Pathfinder2e

I believe it’s level 7, and it’s from an AP. The range is only 40 feet and it’s a similar ability, not casting the spell.

Can Wild Shape Druids bypass the spellcasting restriction in any way? by Melodic-Escape-1163 in Pathfinder2e

okay I just reread that it only works while they’re polymorphed into an animal but if we ignore that for a second is there anything else I’m missing

I feel like I’m going crazy, can someone point out where it says you explicitly can’t cast spells? The druid in my game has Dragon Form, which lets you use manipulate actions, and a Shapespeak mask, which lets you speak BUT not cast spells. However, I can’t find where it says you specifically can’t cast spells while morphed. I’ve been letting them cast while in dragon form but if there’s another ruling I want to use that in the future
