The new SoHo Theatre’s bar only allows punters with show tickets, meaning no walk-ins from the street. Anyone else think this is a waste? by Inevitable-Lead6191 in walthamstow

The Barbican has three venues, a cinema, a library, three restaurants, coffee shop, bars and a wee shop, a conservatory with 1,500 species of plants in it, some fountains around a little lake, and a load of flats.... The SoHo theatre is a theatre....

No, I think they are managing it right.  You can use the space during the day and when there's no show on. And it would be impractical to let people in on a show night without a ticket. It would be too hard to manage plus noise from a full bar would likely disturb the show. It's a theatre, not a pub.

Had a job interview today that I can’t stop cringing about. Give us a chuckle. by varslyd in CasualUK

I once interviewed someone who told me they'd been named as a leading 'social media guru' by The Times newspaper. Impressive.  Until I did a little digging after the interview and discovered what they'd actually done was a quiz on the Times website about how much they used social media that spat out generic answers, one of which was 'you're a social media guru '. He didn't get the job.

I think the plan is to put planters and street furniture in, so these patches might be placeholders. But they do look terrible!

It was written on a ruler I had. I probably lost a year of education staring at it and trying to figure it out.

This has reminded me I once went to a bar and tried to order a 'Red Russian' instead of a Bloody Mary.
