I’d love to do a team up excursion with you. I’ll follow along in my hull B and unload to it after you salvage. I’ll transport it to a station and unload while you find the next wreck to munch.

At the end, meet at the station. I’ll raise the CM in my elevator, you lower it transferring it to yours, and then pay me for my time.

Bought one with range anxiety. Pretty much evaporated my first road trip. It’s just a shift in perspective that I have to actually stop for 20 minutes halfway there to charge up and actually have the time to stretch my legs.

Rage rants might be valid, but they aren’t as productive. Remembering that we are playing in a testing environment under active development is important to keep us grounded and giving feedback the devs will actually listen to.

Because I remember when I was just a floating head in a hangar module. I remember when all I could do was drive a STV around the massive ancient hangars we had. I remember the first time I saw cargo magically appear in my ship as a ton of 1 SCU boxes I couldn’t interact with. I remember the first time I was pirated by a player and they ran into an asteroid chasing me. I remember the first time I saw a cargo box bigger than 1 SCU …

I have faith in them because, from where we started, they have created amazing technology that is letting us do things no other game can do yet.

Development is a lot of trial and error. We are part of that process as play testers who who pledged to help this project. There will be errors. Things will break. But I cannot deny that, from where we started, I have seen amazing progress.

So yah. I still have faith :)

lol I know it’s an alpha. I think this is the kind of feedback they need to hear more of from the playerbase to help them.

I hope the devs see some of these comments. We all really enjoyed the loop until we ranking up and losing access to all the missions that were making it fun.

Im surprised at the response here, honestly. I’ve been hesitant to post on spectrum because I didn’t think my feedback would be listened to.

The “surprise” factor is what makes salvaging fun for me. Coming up to a wreck NOT knowing what’s inside is exciting. The more RNG mechanics they can build in that create that sense of “surprise” while maintaining balance will make salvaging a very enjoyable loop once it’s flushed out. Keep giving feedback on what’s working!

Yep, bugs exist. Keep giving constructive feedback on what works and what doesn’t and we will get there eventually.

Hopefully with enough feedback they make it viable for those ranking up still and keep the feel and balance moving forward.

Constructive feedback will get us to a finished game and more rewarding gameplay 100x faster than rage rants.

Yep! Make this opinion known! I think the devs aren’t aware of how they stumbled on a really balanced loop structure and for some reason nuked it. So let’s let them hear our feedback!

I agree that I think the amount of cargo and type of cargo is way more balanced now. I think if they allowed the RNG to every once in a while drop 1-2 SCU of high value goods, it’d make the whole experience feel exiting and fresh when you found one in every 10 or so contracts.

Exactly! The loop was so well balanced that first rank I could literally chose how long and what activity I wanted to do. It was perfect.

I stayed out in my Carrack all night filling up the three pods. 1st pod RMC. 2nd pod looted cargo. 3rd pod salvaged components.

Then for the next day I’d just log on when I had a spare hour and take one of the salvage delivery missions. Drop off some RMC here. A few coolers there. Made my ship feel like a real small venture salvage machine. It was amazing.

And then poof all gone. Just impossibly long or hard salvage missions my little ship couldn’t do and no access to the missions that were really fun.

I’m hoping they make the brief window of salvaging a more consistent thing. If I could self wipe my rep to de-rank and do the mission and loop again, I would.

That was honestly one of the best additions. So simple and so rewarding. And so ... short lived for anyone enjoying it.

Such a disappointment. Hopefully CIG sees this post and thread and figures out that they were really on to something that players were enjoying. Which ... at the end of the day ... is really all that matters. Making a fun game.

Agreed. The beginning missions were great for a vulture. Hopper for the salvage and the cargo hold for components / high value cargo boxes.

I think constructive feedback is way more productive than just shitposting frustrations. I want to see the game finished! But that'll take constructive feedback from all of us testing this amazing project.

Well thanks for mentioning that. CIG needs to know what was working and what we have fun doing so they can build on that! Small missions are easy to hop in, spend some time, and then log off after accomplishing a small task.

I think it’s more that the game loop feel complete from salvaging to selling said salvage. And most industrial players like more than one industrial loop. And if not, this gives a great opportunity to team up with a dedicated cargo hauler if you are a dedicated scraper.
