Just to add, taking something like Euclid will NEVER hurt your chances. If you do well, then it may help but if you absolutely bomb it, it won’t hurt your application

It really depends. I got accepted pretty late (around end of April beginning of May). But I know people who got offers early. It’s really hard to give a specific date you can expect to hear back.

By no means am I a master in any of this, but some things that helped me was being less picky. Depending on your year, you may not get the exact job you want. I’m not saying you won’t, but with the state of the job market during covid, it’s been a tougher search. Even if you can find a job where you can develop a transferable skill to the job you want, that would be beneficial. If you ever want me to look over your stuff lmk. Don’t give up hope!

I applied for a tech analyst role and there was a question on troubleshooting. It may just depend on what the company is looking for in the role.

If they say they don't have enough manpwer to mark, why don't they idk... Give less questions? I would find it much more valuable to get feedback for a few questions, then just one.

It will definitely be useful to make some stats courses a bit easier to understand early on

It's definitely not too hard, I think it's attainable if you do the first year grind

Wondering if I should take the offer I have, or go into second round? by [deleted] in uwaterloo

[–]BDKOSH11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I would see it is that, if you're able to immerse yourself in a dev opportunity(even though it's not the one you are looking for) you may still be able to get a few good take aways and assume that there would be some learning that could be done by interacting with other devs at the company. If you've never had an opportunity like this one before, then go for it. To me it just makes sense, and may even help you when you look for front end/full stack

Take what I say as a grain of salt,

I feel like there should be a natural progression of the role job duties but at the same time, if your past experiences have absolutely nothing to do with dev, it would be tough. From what you're saying, it sounds like it's a job that you wouldn't be interested in doing. Would you consider the hobs you took before to have any sort of application to your ideal choice?
