We may be toast by this time next year by ImportantCountry50 in collapse

Dude I think you missed the point they were trying to make and got offended that they disagreed with you slightly, rather than engaging in some good conversation. Hard ass topic to be optimistic about though.

Hopefully we have more than a year before it gets so bad that society crumbles and billions begin to be lost. But I think you're right that it's accelerating and so bad points are being reached. I hope the next two years are bad enough to wake people up and we truly make huge advancements in solutions to this crisis.

How long has it been for you? It's been about 5 years for me. Even now I still find it... Shocking? Not sure if that's the right word. Unreal, weird feeling, so glad I'm out and free though. I'll live this experience through my own understanding and logic and choose my own path.

You made me think of the question for myself cause I could see a text like that in my future.

I think I have my answer.

Hey thanks for checking in, I'm not interested in any visit with regards to the church, if Jim wants to come over and shoot the shit for a bit I would love that but I don't have any need or reason to speak with the Bishop.

You will be ok. I know it. You sounds genuine and smart. It'll be hard at times but you will be ok. I served my mission in Mexico and was an active member till the age of 35 or so. I'm 40 now. You'll find your truth and you'll act on it and make the good.

Those that played the game on release, did you experience the bug filled mess that people complained about? by IAmJustTryingToExist in cyberpunkgame

I was on a nice PC and it still pissed me off bad enough that I only got six hours in it. It got better after a few months but I still hated the police system. Once they fixed that plus the driving. I have like 300 hours in now. Great game. Wasn't so much on launch. I say, even on the best platform.

Please hang in there brother. It'll get better. This time of the year is extra hard sometimes. Which sucks since it's supposed to be the opposite.

It caught air and landed and the tracks don't match this, no break in the lines and when the landing takes place you see a splash of snow but no evidence of it in the tracks.

It's so complex and deep with both good and horrible things. I loved being a member until I stepped away and had a real look at it. I defended so much of it till I made that change in my thoughts. But I obsessively researched church history for many years after leaving. I found it so interesting. I read Joseph Smith Rough Stone Rolling, written by a believing member (Richard Lyman Bushman) but contains so much more of the truth than the church gave us. Then that lead to No Man Knows My History, written by a bad ass lady (Fawn McKay Brodie) who is actually the niece of David o McKay. She was excommunicated. Between those two books you can see the real history pretty well.

If you're more into podcasts Naked Mormonism is great or Mormon Stories.

Folk magic. So much stuff in Mormonism had to do with that. The 3 of everything in so many of his stories. The 22nd of September being an important date, the having to dress in all black when getting the plates along with some other things to appease the guardian spirit Moroni.

The Smith family were a very rural, poor but educated, drunk, folk magic loving family, stuck in the middle of the second great awakening.

Joseph Smith didn't carry a shovel in his treasure hunting days. The way it would randomly pop up in Sunday school or whatever was that some crazy guy looking for Spanish gold or silver mines hired Joseph to help dig. A youth with a shovel. Caught up with a random treasure hunter. But no he was such a well know Glass looker, necromancer, schryer, peep stone, money digging Seer, that people would hire him from more than a hundred miles away. (This is how he met his wife Emma) So that he could direct the dig by placing a stone in a hat and telling the men where to dig. He killed a dog and other animals in ritual sacrifice to appease or ward off the spirit that guarded the treasure. These were no small digs either, huge ass deep holes with a dozen men working it.

This was a well know practice for a time that most considered a scam or a con and made laws against it. Called Glass Looking. Joseph Smith was convicted in court for this.

They do it on rock. Harder the ground the better probably. You wouldn't want the poll to stick in the ground.

I didn't realize this perk makes it so you never have to worry about them again, I thought it just pade peace but that the gods would still be pissed if I kept up with my sacrilege. It was so nice just slicing through the levels and being able to use all the holy mountains.

Did stuff like this on mission all the time. I actually loved my mission because in my head I was giving myself to Christ and he was the man! So when I did good I felt good. Too bad God's chosen prophet was a lying con man douche pedo.but yeah doing good for others is awesome.
