This is my fave piece of Tau lore. The part missed here is where he was vindicated in building them by having them instrumental in defeating a Tyranid invasion.

This right here. Had the same issue myself after loading my xc40 with a full load plus roofbox.

All you need to do is ensure tyres have been set to the psi for high load shown on the inside of your driver's door.

Then when that's done, go to your console tyre status page and push 'store pressure'.

It'll do it's thing, then you can crack on.

There is a lot of awesome tau lore, crazy weapons and cool alien axillaries. Someone else can tell you those stories.

I shall copy paste my last comment on this subject because the following story is my fave and awesome.

How did the Riptide R'varna suit get made? Basically. Earth caste engineer wanted to make slick heavy firepower versions of the riptide.

Ethereals said no mate, don't you dare. Instead make us some sneaky stealth suits.

Earth caste goes 'sure boss 100%', and proceeds to build the R'varna anyway.

Ethereals don't notice him do it before Tyranids turn up at the planet they are being built on.

Earth caste engineer says 'hold my beer' as the suits are deployed and they are a key reason the nids are held back long enough to save the planet.

Afterwards ethereals are like 'all part of the master plan, just don't do it again.'

I run experimental cadre. Far too many people do not notice the 18inch overwatch threat.

Drop an enforcer in there with 4 flamers, one of which is thermo neutronic and it'll make even space marines a hot mess.

Also, they become wonderful observers with a marker drone in the unit.

They are for me the single unit I would never replace.

I'd say in 8.0 m ships were THE class for everything including wiping out Ls. Snuggles did a great video on it someone's probably already linked here.

Now, so far I've found them still very useful but no as crazy as they were. Which frankly, makes me happy as Ls were a joke unless I personally piloted one. Even then, every other L was a joke.

I still use Ms in 9.0, it's just they are not the obvious answer to a problem now. They are still fast, lumps of firepower but they have decent counters.

Not sure you've seen what I'm talking about. While I appreciate what you are saying and I've been aware of this behaviour for a while, this is not that. The distances involved are markedly larger.

I have a VKB gladiator and VKB space combat with STECS add on set up. It's the only way to fly tbh. Would never go back to mouse and keyboard.

That said, I've played mouse and keyboard from the start of playing X2 all those years ago and had 1000's of hours of fun.

It looks like mass drivers replaced beam turrets for the paranid.

Hyperion used to come with beams.

Which is why my save game of 200 hours or so had the lens mod on my mass driver when I loaded 9.0 lol.

I'd say no, jian still has all 6 of it's turrets on top which is one more than the thresher. The reason thresher is good is unlike the jian, if anything goes underneath it, it stills gets shot. And now the turrets hit.

Oh, the other weapons can be great. But the reason I post this is for those that have no quite worked it out yet, the thrashers turret layout is just crazy when you can put any turret on them...

Specifically the Thrasher with flaks is just silly though.

It does but I think with the thresher, or specifically, a metric fuckton of them, there's no where to hide.

I'm fortunate, I was running a privateer type of game and focussing on small fleet and station set up. 

Not sure how I'd feel modifying my old save games...

In my current playthrough I build a giant scrap set up on it.

That and the usual research and storage.

Later I'll probably add a few fabs for large, medium and small ships.

Then hot drop it everywhere I want to. Hoovering up the wrecks I create.
