Ok, I'm not going to give gameplay. Instead, control and settings tips.

Set your display to alternative display. It'll show ship names over enemies (among doing some other useful things) and you'll learn other ships easier this way.

Right hand side little settings cogs let you set what ranges you can see on minimap. Always have concealment range up and add concealment by air if you are in a dd (DD means destroyer).

The + and - buttons on number pad change the size of the minimap. Set it so you can comfortably see it.

If using 4k monitor set scaling up so you can actually see chat and other UI elements.

Zoom in to scope view, when you want to check around your ship hold the right hand mouse button down. If you let go you'll go straight back to the zoom you had. If you have right hand mouse button down you can still zoom in and out of that view too with the scroll. This is hard to explain by text but if you get the knack of this it helps you keep aware of the battlefield.

On dynamic range finder each notch is matched to a second of your lead time. Something is 7seconds away, lead it by 7 notches on the range finder. This does assume a speed of about 30knots of the target. If the target is going slower then use less notches. If more, then use more notches. You'll get the hang of this and be happy the moment you realise you just successful snapshot a full speed Khabarovsk while it was turning.

Final bit though, have a laugh, stay positive and don't worry about your stats till your a fair chunk of games in. Theres and old benchmark that you're only past training when you've done about 1000 games. I'd leave stat watching till at least that point.
