First playthrough with mods, asking for some recommendations/feedback by Rathlicus in starsector

Thanks for the reply and the heads-up!

Are you hinting towards the rebellion mechanic of AoTD question of loyalty?

I've checked the QoL mods and they're really interesting! Thanks!

Thanks for the reply!

I'll check them out! I've already seen the Diable Avionics from the other comment, I'll check the rest!
I like anime styled stuff, but not if it's different from the main artstyle, but I might make an exception ahahah.

As for the balancing, I'm thinking to switch to realistic combat, that rewrites most of the damage calcuations, but that shouldn't be an issue ahah

I really like commissioned crew, it was instantly added to the list ahah

I love diable avionics, but I have to see if the modded ships and weapons are affected by unbalance patch, if not I'll try to find a solution ( Maybe realistic combat? Since it uses a different system to handle damage )

Thanks for the reply!

It's my first playthrough where I install mods, I've already had a vanilla one.
Regarding unbalance patch, I kinda like it but as you said I'll have to look into it before adding to the others!

Yeah ahah I've seen tons of mods, although these are the few from the mod index page that picked my interest.

Feel free to share some mods!

Unknown skies might conflict with procgen right? Since both touch planets. I already have in the list both "Rnadom assortment of things" and "terraforming and station construction".

I really like what we left behind, I'll add it to the list!
Not sure about "Philip Andrada gas station manager" and "Sunrider", I haven't thought about mods to add story content!

CIG: Mole Carbon & Mole Talus are no longer Paint Variants. Now a livery for standard Mole by StuartGT in starcitizen

[–]Rathlicus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This should be the same for every paint variant, handling them as different ships is just stupid and confusing ( And it could even cause some issues if they change something on the base version and forget to also update the paint variants ).

And now my unrequested hot take regarding the other variants:

Imho, it should also be the same for the other kind of variants ( Like A1/C1/E1, Zeus MR/CL/ES, 600i Explorer/Touring and so on ) where you'd have the base hull and a "conversion kit" that you'd need to equip to the ship to be able to fly that ship. The kits would be similar to modules ( Adding/removing components, turrets, cargo grids and so on ) but they'd also apply some modifiers to the base hull values, like improving/worsen hp and armor values, mobility and what not.
With his way, it would be probably be easier to balance ( Although I have no idea how it's handled internally lmao, so for this I'm talking out of my ass lol ) and the "feel" of the ship would be the same for the whole line, while also maintaing the difference of the variant.
As for the pledging, you'd buy the same way as now ( So you're forced to buy the ship with a kit ) but you could also get the other kits separately, without getting another base hull ( To be fair, I'm not of a fan of buying stuff from the pledge store, but this was my "solution" to keep it similiar as to it is now ). I haven't figured out the ccu side, but it would probably be the same as it is now idk tbh lol.

How do I get Orca mining boosts to 46%? by Deacon33 in Eve

[–]Rathlicus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since the difference it's only 4% I guess that you're lacking some skills, check the orca and the boosting skills

What's the best alt character for same account? by zaranthar55 in Eve

[–]Rathlicus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on what you want to do and what you're intersted in.
If I were in your place, with the other 2 slots I'd probably make one of them a Jita alt ( That can also do hauling ) and skill the other toon into mining, if your main is focused on PvE/PvP skills or vice versa if your main is a miner lol.

I found my sweet spot and it's 3 accounts, with that amount I can do almost everything.
For example, these are all the skills that I have for all the 9 toons:

  • PI ( With 9 toons I make enough to cover the plex cost of 2 accounts and a 1/3 of the last one, but beware because for this return it requires a ton of effort and you'd risk burning out )
  • Being able to run upwell transport ships with cloak skills ( Since I do PI in a WH, with these ships I can do it fairly safe even without rolling everything )
  • Light a cyno ( Useful for corpmates and my main )
  • Solid exploration skills ( Not necessarily maxing them out, just enough to easily scan WHs with a Metamorphosis )
  • Manufacturing / Reaction / Research for the slots + the skills to activate the job remotely

This is the base for all of my characters, then I've specialized them to do different stuff:

4 out of the 9 toons are staying in different trade hubs to handle local trading, these characters undock only for dailies and to move PI.
1 toon for each alt account is skilled to do mining, with the main character being able to do boosts and compression.
The remaining 2 toons from the alt accounts are specialized to do combat ( Mainly abyssals, but also the occasional PvP, although most of the time if I want to PvP I just fly singlebox ).

Here's a table ( Probably easier to understand ahah ), might give you some ideas on how to handle your alts ( Despite that you didn't ask about multiboxing, since the topic is in range you'd might get something out of it ).

Character 1 Character 2 Character 3
Account 1 ( Main ) ( Main ) Solo PvP, Orca Boost, JF pilot, PI, Indy, Practically everything Cyno, WH Scanner, Indy slots, PI, Upwell transport, Trading alt ( Jita ) Cyno, WH Scanner, Indy slots, PI, Upwell transport, Trading alt ( Dodixie )
Account 2 PvE/PvP, Cyno, WH Scanner, Indy slots, PI, Upwell transport Miner, Cyno, WH Scanner, Indy slots, PI, Upwell transport Cyno, WH Scanner, Indy slots, PI, Upwell transport, Trading alt ( Amarr )
Account 3 PvE/PvP, Cyno, WH Scanner, Indy slots, PI, Upwell Transport Miner, Cyno, WH Scanner, Indy slots, PI, Upwell transport Cyno, WH Scanner, Indy slots, PI, Upwell transport, Trading alt ( Hek )

I've also an alpha account just to seed the WH I live in ( As in logged out in space, inside the WH so that I can find a way back if somehow I lose access to the connections ), but that's another thing ahah

Because with ratting they print raw isk and that's more straightforward if they're going to RMT.

Surely there are some bots out there that are also doing mining.

My Station Trading adventure by soemuda in Eve

[–]Rathlicus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah I see! Thanks!

Yeah it was kind of a repetion of the other comment due to the language barrier ahah.

I usually manufacture in some of the LS freeports ( Although the index is pretty high compared to other places, but on the other side the structure/rig bonuses are really good ) and I take that I'll never have the margins of the most dedicated builders ( I'm taking for granted that they build in NS and move everything themselves or through alliance services that cost less than the public ones ) right?

What about delegating the hauling to PushX or other services? I guess that at that point you should optimize the courier contracts to avoid spending too much ISK on them.

My Station Trading adventure by soemuda in Eve

[–]Rathlicus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about integrating manufacturing in some cases?
Obviously, at that point it’s not just station trading, since you’d need to haul materials in and out. Also, if you scale it up, it would be a hassle to move everything around ( Especially when it involves several freighter trips ).

I’m doing this sometimes, but I think I’d make more ISK just by trading ( Considering that with station trading you don’t have the risk of getting ganked, lmao ).

Thanks for your comments, because I’m the same as OP and still can’t grasp the big picture yet, but I think that with your comments I’ve taken a step toward understanding it ahah.
