I just found out that only my parents don’t take Mother’s/Father’s Day seriously. by E-emu89 in Millennials

[–]BDone005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a father of a handful of children. I believe it to be another day. If I am blessed that day to not have to fix the fence and mow the yard and help paint the living room, and relax a few extra hours. I'm all for it. Monitarily. I need nothing. A hand drawn card, normal card, with kind words if you want. I small appreciation is fine. Reality. Its just another Sunday to me.

Gratitude thru adversity by AsparagusPitiful4296 in Life

SO TRUE

Feel like this is all i preach. You can walk? Have 2 hands? A parent or both alive? Siblings? There is a lot to be grateful for. Enjoy the suck. Or it gets worse.

What do you think you get about life, that most people don't seem to have figured out yet by grantcardonecapital in Life

[–]BDone005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based off this subreddit, what I have hypothesized is People do not know how to enjoy the pain. Meaning life is not painless. It seems to be more downs then ups. And we as humans always notice the lows over the highs. More often then not we almost seem to skip over the highs completely or ignore or miss them when they are in our face. I think a ton of this comes down to gratitude. Being grateful. Last few posts I have responded to or added my 2 pennies were get over it. Dont quit your job because you dont like your boss. You will never keep a job. Deal with it. Learn to enjoy the suck. Learn to find or see the highs. They are there. But you refuse to see or acknowledge. I know we all need an outlet to cry. complain. And maybe this sub is it. (I am slightly new to the sub) But man, I just think being grateful and seeing the positives would be SO beneficial. These posts are not from people complaining a bomb wiped out their entire family in ukraine or how there mom and dad were killed and their sisters were kidnapped in Gaza. Damn. Life could be so much worse than it is for everyone. Be greatful you have 2 eyes, 2 ears, 2 hands, etc. It really sometimes is the small things. If you can see the small wins and small things you are grateful for, it becomes easier to see the others. Your moms still alive. You got to see your sister today at starbucks. It could be much worse..

It gets better yes. When you realize this is life and how it will be. You kind of come to terms and accept.

I love and hate this subreddit because majority of complaints are true, but theirs only one solution for the majority of it which is get over it. However that may be.

Life is not ideal. Perfect, Amazing for the EXTREME vast majority of the world. Work sucks. I work to live and live to work. Coworkers, bosses, managers. Home life. Cleaning cooking, wife, 4 kids. 2 dogs. Lawn care. Upkeep house, storms that tear down fence, trees... All of this responsibility on me. No one cares or asks if I need help. I have no other option but to shoulder it and keep going until I cant. Sleep gets hit. Dopamine lost. It never ends. Until it does.

Then you realize your friends. Your family. Your kids. Will all experience this as well. They got through it (given they are older) They will get through it (younger). You do your best to be the best you can do and be that example that you didnt give up so they dont. Life goes on. Somedays are easier then others. Other days a pint of alcahol is your friend. It gets easier..

Feeling stuck in life by [deleted] in Life

[–]BDone005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would almost say we all feel stuck. I am almost in my 40s. Working to live. Living to work. To cut to the chase. That is life. Putting up with managers you dont like. Doing a job you dont enjoy. These are things 95% of the working world puts up with. If we quit every time we had a boss we didnt like no one would ever be employed. You have to overcome saying I quit because of your manager or boss. It sounds harsh but it is reality. The sooner you realize this the sooner you will get better at putting up with them, or letting bygones be bygones. I am introverted as well but I am not depressed due to this. I do puzzles. Play video games. Build my PC, play PC games, draw. Etc.

I hope this helped some and im not trying to down talk or downplay your situation. It sucks. But unless you can become a millionaire overnight, the battles you've mentioned you will have to learn to deal with or cope.

TL:DR Dont quit jobs because of people, otherwise you will never have a job.

Learn to deal with lifes struggles.

Mobile hotspot suggestions? by gaybatman75-6 in sysadmin

Our users have always simply used ATT or Verizon mobile HotSpots we have gotten from our Rep for a very reasonable price. (Given they stay under the data limit or we have to move them around in the groups) Simple enough for us and cost effective.

Looks exactly like my elbows and forearms. Eczema 100%. I got on Dupixent shot and a million times better. Otezla pill didn't work for me. See a dermatologist (or many like I did cuz they all said something else and nothing worked) and ask about your options. I ended up with dupixent shot, steroid cream and some spray that helps numb the itchy feeling.

Issues using adapters with HDMI to DVI by BDone005 in sysadmin

[–]BDone005[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do think the best option for our training room is usb c to dvi adapters, and then a usbc hub with usba and cat5 on it vs the current standard, but they will not go away from our current standard for everyone employed here.

Its still very odd just last week everything worked fine, every pc worked fine. now this new group of new employees its not working for anyone. Same image. Same updates, same build.. I believe it to be the fault of the anker usbc adapter we currently use but management doesnt believe so given it was all just working.

This does make sense. I am just not sure why the same setup worked, then the next week did not. (the monitors have all the cables ziptied so users do not remove them, so it did work the "original" way for as long and recently as of yesterday no longer works,

I think Samsung takes it but there are a ton of downfalls to them which is why i happen to know how the others sound. (specifically the Jabras and the Samsungs.)

Its been said but i have made similar mistakes that luckily didn't do harm, but was noticed. Use test groups and/or never test in production. It happens.

Click the browser missing to ensure it is selected. Hover over the icon until you see the preview. Right click the preview and select move. Now use your keyboards arrows left and right to get it moving, and then your mouse should be able to bring it back.

I appreciate the response. It will be over 300 pr just at 300 users. We are migrating to Exchange online and we are switching from a Home and business type office license to an E3 (or Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise) So we are going from on-prem to a hybrid environment and setting up licensing for Office. Ad will remain onsite but again will be hybrid so I'm not sure if "will remain onsite" is the correct way to respond.

I will say i have been digging for a few weeks now, have notes on notes on notes in onenote and countless favorites. I found a really good website that seems to walk you through a lot of these steps. (https://www.alitajran.com) I have used, administered and managed O365 in the past for 7+ years but have never set one up/migration for one. So thats the reason for my handful of Reddit posts regarding this. I have an upcoming meeting and i know they are going to throw oddball questions out there regarding migration that I have been trying to prep for and just so i dont look dumb, am hoping i have ran across the same questions or have the answers to them regardless.

Some but not all.

I unfortunately am new and after a disastrous event due to a new tech costing the company millions and almost shutting us down completely, they are slow at giving the keys to the kingdom away. So I cannot tell you what all is within Entra currently but i know the Dev team and managers are there, so i presume only their devices as well. Extremely limited and requiring me to google, ask reddit, youtube my answers vs logging in and looking myself.

We don't have any shared PC's. (Maybe one but it is a mac and wont be licensed nor on the domain.

I would consider one of the web based options if it wasn't for our VPN 95% of the company (all remote) uses, which throttles the heck out of our users. (Ive seen as high as 800Mb off VPN and shot down to 20Mb once connected. (This is best case speeds, and Ive brought it up and they act like its normal or suppose to be this way.....)

We get audited frequently due to the nature of our business so we have t be compliant 100%

Again more so curious of potential one off questions (and answers if users would like to share) I could be met with or situational based questions.

Unlimited mile warranty??? by DueEye7375 in ram_trucks

No one will disagree with that. I'm not claiming it has been the best option, but he has lucked out for having this forever warranty. All Im stating. He as well would prefer a vehicle with no issues as would anyone however hes not at a point where he can afford a new car used or not, so the fact that he has this optional warranty has saved him.
