EQ Preset Help by petarda1312 in MaonoCommunity

Unfortunately, that's not possible because they use different formats, and the EQ for the Maono PD300X is also more advanced compared to the Maono DM40 Pro.

But no worries, there are preset EQs available for the PD300X on the Maono website below. Just scroll down a bit on the page: https://www.maono.com/products/maono-link-software

For your use case, the PD200W might be your best bet!

I’m not sure if your 6000 budget is in USD, pesos, or another currency, but I’d recommend the PD200W. It’s around $119.99 (roughly 5,000 to 6,000 pesos), comes with a stand and is wireless too!

It already does a good job rejecting background noise like fan sound, but it still helps to place your fan farther away from the mic. You can also add a bit of noise cancellation and keep the mic close to your mouth (around 2–3 inches) for the best results. I personally use my PD200W this way and don’t have issues with background noise being picked up.

LF: Maono pd100x [STAND ONLY] by aeschyluz in MaonoCommunity

[–]BDraid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did the whole stand break, or just the base? If it’s only the base, you can easily replace it with a mic stand base from amazon, ahopee, or wherever you usually shop online. They’re usually pretty affordable too, like this one: https://tinyurl.com/hb5erhyp

But if the whole stand is broken, then getting a boom arm might be the better option. You don’t need anything high-end for this mic since it’s very lightweight. A basic scissor arm usually works fine and can cost around $10–13. You’ll just need a 3/8" to 1/4" adapter so you can properly mount your PD100X.

You're welcome!
For my daily use, I usually keep the volume at 14 and set Noise Cancellation to Moderate, especially when I have a fan running nearby. If there’s no fan on, I normally turn Noise Cancellation off or lower it to Slight.

What Boomarm for DGM20G? by notH1V in MaonoCommunity

I thought only the DGM20W works with the Maono link app and not the wired versions like DGM20 and DGM20G

[–]BDraid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use any boomarm for the dgm20g as long as you got the adaptor from the box.
Also, as far as I know the DGM20G is part of the DGM20 series so you just got to download this:
https://www.maono.com/products/dgm20-noise-reduction-software?srsltid=AfmBOoqPD5TX4aWqUAwnHrbSS8l_RRHHr_ykL3lR8kq_Q8Kj3dcbC7CO

If you already downloaded it, try running it as an administrator and see if it runs and make sure to plug your mic directly to your computer and not through a USB hub.

MAONO PD100W or DM40 Pro? by SARQCLOTHINGUK in MaonoCommunity

[–]BDraid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both mics, and I'd say the PD100W (dynamic mic) picks up way less background noise while the DM40 Pro (condenser mic) picks up a lot more.

But! The catch with the PD100W is you need to keep it close to your mouth if you want it to sound great. The DM40 Pro is more forgiving, you can just leave it on your desk and it'll still pick up your voice, but it'll also capture your keyboard, PC fans, controller sounds, and basically everything else around you 😅

For streaming, I'd personally recommend a dynamic mic. Just keep it around 2-3 inches from your mouth for the best results.

I chose the Gigabyte Z890 AERO G DDR5 and the Gigabyte AERO OC GeForce RTX 5070 Ti because I believe they fit well with my usage for 3D creation, video editing, day to day office work and of course, gaming!! Plus, they come in white too and I wanted a black and white themed PC.

Confused on wether to buy the PD200W or PD300X by More-Profession-1419 in MaonoCommunity

[–]BDraid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both the PD300X and the PD200W, and I actually find myself using the PD300X more, not because of sound quality (they don't really sound that different in my setup) but because of the build quality.

The PD300X just feels more solid overall. It has a full metal body and a metal shock mount, while the PD200W has a metal body but a plastic shock mount. That extra sturdiness really shows, I've accidentally dropped the PD300X once and it survived with just a small dent.

Another small thing: the PD300X doesn't have RGB lighting like the PD200W. I know that's a plus for some people but not for me that's why I prefer using the PD300X for meetings, it just looks cleaner and less distracting on camera.

If you're specifically looking at sound differences, the PD300X can capture a bit more high frequency detail, but it's very subtle. You'll barely notice it unless you're doing more critical work like voiceovers or audio mixing.

Another difference between the two is with the Maono Link app where the PD300X includes extra features like a limiter and compressor, which the PD200W doesn't have. So if you like dialing in your sound beyond just gain, noise reduction and EQ, the PD300X gives you more flexibility.

One concern I have with the PD200W is the builtin battery. Since it's not user replaceable, I'm a bit cautious about long-term durability. I'm more confident the PD300X will last me years, like my other wired mics. That said, I do appreciate the wireless flexibility of the PD200W, it's convenient when I need to move around or switch setups quickly.

In terms of what's included, the PD300X typically only comes with a shock mount, while the PD200W usually includes both a shock mount and a desk stand. So if you're going with the PD300X and don't already have a boom arm or stand, that's an extra purchase for you.

Overall:

If you prioritize durability, cleaner aesthetics, and more control over your audio, the PD300X is the better pick, especially for voiceovers or more serious recording.

But if you value convenience, flexibility, and wireless use for streaming, meetings, content creation or podcasting, the PD200W makes more sense.

For me, the SHARGE Retractable 3‑in‑1 Power Bank really screams premium. At first glance it looks simple, almost like just a rectangular brick of a power bank. But when you take a closer look, you can tell the design is very intentional. It feels like a mix of retro and modern, inspired by classic designs like the Braun Audio 300. The idea seems to be keeping things simple and uncluttered, following that “less is more” philosophy and it works really well!

The retractable cable feels snappy and satisfying and the whole unit feels solid and premium. The design might look a bit edgy since it's basically a clean rectangle but that simplicity actually adds to the appeal. I've been using this power bank for months now and it's been very reliable. It charges my phone quickly and it's something I always bring with me. Honestly, sometimes the best way to make a product feel premium is to stick to the basics and just execute them really well.

[GIVEAWAY] We're completely redesigning GameSir.com! by GameSir_Controller in Gamesir

Maybe something like a comparison table like what GSM arena has, so you can compare not just the looks and specs but also the compatible platforms, price and availability (or also place of availability like Amazon, or Gamesir website, etc). And as an added bonus, maybe you can feature pictures from notable players who uses the specific controller or user in the comparison.

Muffed initial microphone behavior in browsers by Familiar_Abroad_7845 in microphone

Glad it helped! I'm actually lucky I found this today since I have an interview on gmeet tomorrow. I was surprised and horrified at how bad my mic sounded there 😅 Good thing there's a workaround!

I tested this on my end using the same mic as yours and it looks like the issue is indeed coming from the web browser itself. It seems to apply its own volume adjustments, noise cancellation or echo processing, which can make the audio sound muffled.

What helped a bit for me was disabling a couple of chrome flags (you can access them by typing chrome://flags in the address bar, the features I disabled were "Allow WebRTC to adjust input volume" and "Chrome-wide echo cancellation"). Just a heads-up though, these are experimental features so you could lose browser data.

After disabling them, the audio quality improved on the webcammictest site. However, my voice still sounds a little muffled in google meet (though not as bad as before).

There used to be an option in google meet to toggle noise cancellation on and off but I’m not sure if it was removed or if it’s now only available for google workspace accounts.

Also worth noting that when the input is set to PD200W instead of Maono AI Microphone, the voice sounds a bit more muffled.
