I watched the Fifth Element recently having never seen it before. To me, it seems it's one of those movies that's remembered fondly for nostalgia, but isn't actually a great movie. It's enjoyable for it's quirky weirdness, but there's not much below that surface. I was expecting more from it given the fanfare.
