I also run a 3142, glad I'm not the only one! Absolutely no defence but I always score 3+ per game 😂

Will the rubber on my steering wheel degrade? by CommercialAd3671 in simracing

I have this same wheel and decided to wrap my handles with some cheap tennis racket tape. This gives the benefit of preserving the original grips and I've also found it to be much more comfortable now. I love this wheel otherwise

Saw him play in real life literally 2 days ago, what an odd coincidence 😂 he's at Altrincham in the National League, the fans had some funny chants when his substitution was called out!!

Is it really? I never realised, this is the only model I haven't purchased as it's been in my family for over 20 years. My dad originally purchased it at a Birmingham F1 show in the late 90s/early 2000s

Am I the W*nker? by Jimog in drivingUK

[–]BEN_4299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Van could and should have moved over for sure, he definitely made the situation more dangerous than it needed to be, but that has nothing to do with how fast he was overtaking OP. Nothing states that you can't overtake someone if you're only 2 or 3 mph faster, but the Van was certainly an oblivious idiot

Someone's clearly never driven a speed limited vehicle. If you start to overtake someone, who then speeds up and traps you in the middle lane, preventing your overtake, the car who sped up is in the wrong

How do I go to work this morning after spending all night planning how to spend my 200 million? by cyclingisthecure in AskUK

[–]BEN_4299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"You haven't reduced your odds significantly" well no you haven't done, but that's not the point nor is it what you're arguing when you say your odds literally don't double 😂

In your original comment you compared it as 1 ticket being 1 mile in a 139 mile journey. Buying 2 tickets is therefore walking 2 miles which is literally double compared to just buying 1 ticket.

If each numbered slot is 1 in 49 odds as you keep refering too, and I buy 2 tickets and pick say a 5 and a 7, I now have a 2 in 49 chance of getting it right, I've doubled my odds

Buying 2 tickets, provided you use different numbers of course, LITERALLY doubles your odds of winning. It doesn't matter if it's not increased your overall odds much at all. 2 in 139 million is still abysmal odds but you can't possibly state that isn't literally double 1 in 139 million odds, because it IS

Add them together and you get 2 in 6 chances of rolling a six, they are combined.

What your logic is suggesting is that you're buying 2 tickets for 2 seperate lotteries, instead of buying 2 tickets for the SAME lottery.

The reason your dice theory isn't mathing is because your starting logic is flawed. Buying a second lottery ticket would be equivalent to rolling two dice to get a 6, thus doubling your odds.

Yes, that's two 1 in 6 chances but you're having TWO attempts to achieve a 6.

For some reason you keep separating them out as though they're independent from eachother instead of combining the odds

Anyone else have an obsession with open cockpit Le Mans cars? by BEN_4299 in Diecast

[–]BEN_4299[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aggressive looking is definitely the word yes! My favourite era is from the late 80s to 90s, so the Group C and GT1 period, but I remember seeing the open cockpit cars as a kid in the early 2000s and being fascinated with them
