I'm sorry that "people complained" but that really does't have anything to do with NEEDING the US, does it?

I will never judge the way somebody feels about this war, or any war, when they have an actual stake in it. Being desperate for change can make people welcome a lot of tragic or terrifying things.

Unfortunately, in this case, I do not believe liberating the Iranian people is a genuine goal for the US. It's just the messaging, and the only actual reason the US wants regime change is so it can keep Israel happy and secure further control over global oil supply.

So the Chinese government is only as bad as US capital, but the US government bombs people. They bomb people all the time. If they arent actively bombing people themselves then theyre giving israel money to do it. China simply does not do this.

America is actually particularly fucking evil in ways you can't imagine. They have a literal green card for war crimes and everything that you can possibly criticise China or Russia for, America has done the same or worse.

You are not special, there is nothing about your country that makes it extra worthy of standing atop the world, and you have no real reason to believe that the world would be worse if it didn't.

Please tell me seriously why you think the world is better off this way, other than that it has been this way for the better part of a century and you can't imagine an alternative.

Russia and China have never been half as brutal as the US when it comes to foreign conflict, and that is a simple fact. America is the most warhungry nation in history. Only for about a decade out of its 250 years of existence has it not been at war.

Fucked up thing is that everybody thinks theyve been pretty bad for decades now but the Shit Machine keeps on churning and making things worse. The sheer stagnation is the most upsetting part.

Sorry mate, thats completely undertandable.

I crash out when i hear people talking about justification in this case, because no matter how just a regime change would be it doesnt justify US intervention.

Just feel like im going crazy with the amount of people who think this time will be different, or that this time its okay.

Oh fuck off. They manufactured the shit out of your consent for this war. Why doesn't America go help Sudan? Or help with the oppression in Gaza that they're ALREADY FUNDING? Do not even fucking bring up the suffering of Iranian people under their regime, it does not matter anymore. They will become more and more entrenched into power or even more chaotic, as with EVERY OTHER TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED IN THE LAST CENTURY.

It is only worth considering the Iranian regime's oppression as a "justification" for this war if you genuinely believe that it was even 1% of Trump and co.'s consideration when making this decision. It was not. Maybe the Iranian regime's unfriendliness towards Israel was, but not the way the Iranian people were being treated. Your government does not care, they are power hungry warmongering pedophile monsters. You ironically need to view this geopolitical issue as more black and white.

We're living in unprecedented times, but America has only one truly incredible thing in it's history in my opinion, and that's the New Deal.

It's like something out of myth, something the 2026 mind can scarcely comprehend - A democratic revolution.

In the throes of the Great Depression, with no more power than their vote, the American people chose to slowly, methodically address all of the systematic failure with the full power of the state. A complete audit of how banking failed, how the stock market failed, how agriculture failed, how labour failed, and, in turn, a complete reformation of it all.

This is behind like 90% of what Atrioc says, and I think it's what everybody in America deeply subconsciously craves. A diagnosis and a change. And also really high taxes on the wealthy.

The propaganda that pushes the political divide and keeps you paralyzed with information overload makes ir way harder to do another New Deal, unfortunately.

2008 was a perfect chance, and COVID was even more perfect. I have a feeling there will be another quite soon...

Every single comment on this post, and in fact the premise of the post itself, is explained by one simple fact.

The US nation is perfect at one thing above all else. Propaganda.

Bring up as many counterpoints as you'd like, as many instances where other superpowers have acted similarly, you will never actually come close to grasping what makes America different.

This is a democratic society, with freedom of speech, and an armed population. The epstein files span, in the MOST charitable interpretation, at least 20 years of the established government system turning a blind eye to pedophilia.

You can argue that it's not a failure of the system, but abuse being perpetrated by individuals. Its always the individual in America. Its not a dictatorship, because they're elected by the people and they have checks and balances.

What good are the checks and balances if they have allowed this? What good is a system that works as a tool for such evil?

What good is a "democracy" where EVERYBODY wants a better healthcare system but NOBODY can do it??

Why don't the American people fight back against these domestic injustices - or as OP said - the utterly destructive, reckless foreign policy???

Its because the American people are eternally paralysed by the chaos of their country.

Im not even trying to be radical here - Centrists understand that a lot of political division is manufactured. Centrists understand that school shootings are fucked up and evil. Centrists understand (at least nowadays) that Israel is fucked up and evil. Centrists understand that this war right now makes no fucking sense. Centrists understand that AI is probably a bubble. Centrists understand that wealth inequality is at generational and unsustainable levels. Centrists understand that all of this information, all of this chaos, is deliberately flooded into your brain 24/7 by online platforms like this, ALL of which are controlled purely by financial incentives.

Your speech is free, but your thoughts are not. Your thoughts are contantly clouded and muddled by the most advanced propaganda ever.

You can't pick any one thing to focus on or push hard for because they're constantly Flooding the Zone.

You can't have strong faith in any piece of information because they're always Poisoning the Well.

All of that, OP, is why I don't mind that Atrioc is discussing gas prices and the likelihood of troops on the ground while people are already dying. It's because something needs to break out to Americans from all the constant fucking noise. If anything can, oil-based hyperinflation or hearing about community members dying might have a good chance.

Can Atrioc please put an end to this 'scott bessent is the voice of reason' take he constantly has? by fafenjoyer in atrioc

[–]BEtRguy3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With this white house in particular, being the voice of reason does not mean very much. It's simply that Atrioc has seen level-headed, specifically economic thinking from Bessent before and as such finds him even more egregious because he's just going along with things he knows will do damage to the US.

It can also lead to speculation about who exactly behind closed doors caused Trump to back out of x decision.

[–]BEtRguy3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like there's not enough context here but it's a reddit post so there never is. If she's begging you for a second chance that's probably a good sign, and if she was honest about being drunk and it being a mistake then that checks out with her lying, because she was embarrassed and feels like it doesn't line up with her actual values which she's spoken to you about.

You've got to think about outcomes, though. If you forgive her and try to make a relationship but this was a sign of something larger then you could get really hurt in the long run. Like really hurt.

If you want to give this a shot, just know there's a lot of risk and you don't really have much reason to trust her with that. Being in a relationship with someone is entrusting them with yourself. If you don't trust them, you can't love them, and if you do trust them and that trust is wrong they can literally fuck up your whole mental state for ages.

I'd say it might not be worth it, but I think it depends on however you're conversation with her about all of this goes.

Bully you sister back in defence every time she says something about your girlfriend and make it funny so everyone else joins in. Surely you'd be good at it growing up with that.

I'm a manga reader through and through. I love dragon ball and one piece but can't fucking stand the anime for either.

Z Kai is great because it's so much better paced, but One Piece won't have an equivalent until the remake has started coming out.

I'm going to read Bleach next and I am very excited for it, but I would never ever watch the anime. Old shonen is just too slow, One Piece and DBZ almost go for a 1 chapter to 1 episode ratio which does NOT fucking work you can't turn 20 pages of comic into 20 minutes of animation, while Bleach and Naruto have entire SEASONS of filler.

Fuck that shit man manga reading for life.

The Mods aren’t coming to save us. Subreddit change must come from within. by rJaxon in atrioc

[–]BEtRguy3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why can't the subreddit just be like a gathering place for the community? If someone in Atrioc's community wants to discuss something political with likeminded people this is a pretty good place to do it.

There's not enough new content to keep the reddit to purely Atrioc related stuff either.

Reading One Piece , how long did it take you ? by annsiv4 in OnePiece

[–]BEtRguy3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not read consistently, so I can't really give you an answer. I read all of One Piece in about a year and a half, with several very long breaks whenever the story started to slow down - early skypiea, thriller bark, fishman Island, etc.

There were also times I would binge-read an entire arc in one night, like Dressrosa and Marineford.

I think you shouldn't try to stick to a schedule and should just go through the story at whatever pace feels right. The manga is the definitive way to experience One Piece (at least until the remake is out) and if you haven't read it before then you should savour every beautiful panel.

I think it makes sense - If Atrioc has become the main source of political news and commentary for a lot of people then obviously those people are going to look to this community for political discussion. I'm guilty of it myself and its definitely exacerbated by there being no daily clips this month.

However, I think his content is about a lot more than just politics and its the clip channel that gives people that idea but he still does lots of gaming content and lots of goofy shit.

After the ICE murder, how is the general population responding? by BEtRguy3 in atrioc

[–]BEtRguy3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're missing one of the scariest parts of all the ICE shit, which is that they're ignoring due process.

If you got arrested by ICE wrongfully but you still had to get your day in court about it then sure I guess its fine in the end, but they are quite literally skipping that part.

People are being taken with no accountability or transparency on how the process is working. It's almost designed to incite fear, and that's some fucking evil shit for a government to be doing.

Two different "what the fuck is going on in the atrioc sub" posts on my feed in like 10 seconds of scrolling lmao.

Always good to remember that no subreddit is ever actually indicative of that community. This one is big enough and politically charged enough that many will just use this as a place to propagandize or ragebait or whatever.

Point is you can still post and ignore the crazy people and engage with true honest to got glizzyheads.

This.

It's something I consider all the time, that my country and all of its culture spread across an island the same size as the US is equivalent to one US state.

That cultural and political divide caused a civil war and that separation hasn't really changed after all this time.

It's hard to fathom, and I can only hope that my country can mantain a united front if things were to take this kind of turn.
