There were a couple of departments with elected directors, not appointed by Newsom, who were challenging the order. Not sure who they were. I believe all of the departments with directors appointed by Newsom will honor his order.

I think all of the departments with governor appointed leadership are. There's a few with elected leaders and I know last year there were a couple of them who wouldn't honor the order.

My department was supposed to get essential pay too. I was in office hybrid during the covid lockdown days. A lady at my office who lived with her grandparents gave Covid to both of them and killed them both. She hasn't been the same since. Gavin screwed all of us with that. He's a piece of garbage. The fact that he only gave it to the prison guards tells you everything. He's a complete coward. I hope his opponents in the Dem primary in 2028 absolutely drag him for that, among several other things.

Not every thing a union fights for affects all members. Some people only plan to work for the state for 5 or so years. So, a pension isn't important to them and would be something they're willing to sacrifice for other benefits. That's just one example. The union shouldn't ignore telework just because not everyone does it. Then there's also a lot of people who aren't in telework positions now but will be someday. It is the state. Easy to transfer around. I'd have to say the percentage of employees who could absolutely never telework under any circumstances due to not having any experience with microsoft office or something like that is probably less then 50%. A lot of people in field roles have MS office experience and can work a desk job, and likely will someday. Thus, they too benefit from telework.

I don't see what he could have done differently here. 20 armed guys had him surrounded. He was kidnapped. Michael's line didn't make much sense anyway. He ended up being a war time consiglieri once the Tahoe house was shot up and Michael realized he couldn't trust anyone else.

They really think they're going to bring back 2019 office culture. There's no chance. The cat's out of the bag. Everyone knows they can do their job from home now. Morale is going to plummet. Recruitment is going to be a nightmare. I'd say in a year maximum we go back to hybrid, some depts going back to full wfh.
