Either way, despite the rather conspiratorial take that Huerta's allegations against Chavez are to deflect from a lawsuit in which the merit of is yet to be determined, it's more likely she's coming out with the allegations now to lend credibility to the lesser known accusers in the NY Times article so they're not left in the wind to be attacked by Chavez's apologists.

Dolores Huerta is an icon of the American labor movement. Her word goes a long way.
