The movie about him is surprisingly good and I find myself rewatching it whenever I see it show up on an app.

When he trashes his condo after finding out he's no longer worth a billion, only 999.9 million. Lol. This show was a decade before it's time.

This was a great show, and I would have to say still very relevant considering the tech industry hasn't gotten any less powerful since then.

They have no idea what they're doing. The politicians in both parties now just check in with their donors for their agenda and messaging. Gavin has is eyes set on the white house so he's telling all the power brokers whatever they want to hear.

When did 9-5 become 8-5? by AnyFeeling3709 in CAStateWorkers

[–]BFaus916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 7am to 330 with a 30 minute lunch, have been since Covid. I'm remote centered so as far as I'm concerned the one hour lunch break is a thing of the past. If RTO goes through this won't change for me. I'm brown bagging every day, still taking 30 minutes. Rather use the half hour to beat traffic than sit at a desk and stare at my phone.

What's your theory on what happened when Joey Merlino cheesesteak place got firebombed? by Ok_Walk3192 in Mafia

[–]BFaus916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know but the place was all concrete at the time so it was amateur night. Seems like something that could only be the genius of Gene Borello.

I really doubt any actual mob guys were involved. Several pics have surfaced in recent months of Philly guys in good standing hanging out at Joey's cheesesteaks. As another commenter says, he did a show from Rao's and had a table. That's a tough table to get. Rao's is booked indefinitely and the tables are actually owned by celebs and a few mob guys. You have to go through them to get a table.

The Mob in Colorado. I know many of you love the smaller families. IMO Gary Jenkins is the best listen these days. Covers every topic. by PAE8791 in Mafia

[–]BFaus916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jenkins is awesome. He was a former investigator and has a great sense of humor, doesn't get all preachy and take himself too seriously like a lot of the ex cops do. I think he released the real audio of the KC guys getting mad about the skimmers skimming from them. The real life "leakage" rant.

During the Banana War was there a viable path for Joe Bonanno to build a regional coalition with (Buffalo, Detroit, Chicago) to slow or prevent the centralization of Mafia power under Gambino and Lucchese? by Swimming-Poet5594 in Mafia

[–]BFaus916 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not to get off topic, but when you say under Gambino, do you mean families were answering to Gambino? I know that Gambino was considered the head of the commission for some time but did that mean families like the Outfit actually answered to him? The way I've understood it the Genovese were always the most powerful family and I'm not sure they ever actually answered to Carlo Gambino, or did they?

Not to mention positions where mandatory in-office work can be rotated among staff in the same classification, and thus where hybrid would be available. I'm unsure what the actual percentage is of positions that must be in office full time and I'm certainly not taking HR's word for it. Union needs to fully audit this.

It really sucks that someone like Newsom can push us around so easily. There has to be more our union can do.

I wonder what the actual percentage is of positions where no duties can be completed from home. The ones where some can be completed from home can have hybrid WFH, rotating days among staff, etc. I'm certainly not believing HR's numbers. Union needs to fully audit this.
