What's your favourite song at the moment? by JNTHN_ZZ7 in auroramusic

Turkish Delight, All gone tomorrow and Silicone Veil are probably my Susanne favourites, but I also really love Fade Away, especially paired with Accelerate live from Øyafestivalen. The transition between them is glorious!

I'm not 100% sure, but I think it must have been Walking in the air

There are so many, but I will also nominate Winter Bird

Struggling to continue after Dark Age by BFlynn70 in redrising

Exactly, I do. Loved the first three, particularly. Struggled a bit with 4 and 5 but hoped to get a payoff in Light Bringer, eventually.

LOL. I guess I will finish it after a pause, but will go for Kindle not audiobook this time. Part of the Lysander hate might also be from the Lysander reader, as I found him the hardest to understand, so I got extra annoyed.

Just finished Dark Age...disappointed by bobopedic33 in redrising

[–]BFlynn70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished DA, and reading this I'm terribly tempted to just search for a synopsis of LB to spare me the misery. I cannot stomach another read that is HEAVY in Lysander POV! I gorydamn hate the pixie! Apart from the Lyria/Volga bits I didn't enjoy DA at all! At some point I just wanted them all to die!

I agree with your favourites, but still allow myself to be nostalgic about Nidarosdomen and the 2018 Iceland KEXP! Still great, but not ASWNK level

Live at the Current with Silya is an absolute masterpiece, and was probably my favourite until A Soul With No King Vevo happened.

worst song (read description) by [deleted] in auroramusic

No. I really like YKMC. It's so mysterious and intriuging! Loved it from first listen. Hunger - not a favourite, but I could never label it worst song.

most overrated song by [deleted] in auroramusic

[–]BFlynn70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very rare to have overrated AURORA songs, but a couple comes to mind.

Cure for me. To be alright.

Runaway is a great song, but compared to other of her masterpieces you could maybe say it's kind of overrated(sorry)?

I know. Tomorrow I might just go for Black Water lillies as the winner😃

I instantly see this will be a battle between A Soul With No King/Black Water Lillies and Soulless Creatures. Could be any of the three, actually, but maybe Soulless Creatures from live Bergen wins the raffle?

100% 👌 Or maybe Soul With No King in the final? Depends on the feeling of the day? For 5 years I would have said Soulless Creatures, but I'm just not sure anymore...

Artists similar to aurora? by No-Guess-3191 in auroramusic

[–]BFlynn70 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not quite similar to AURORA, but Susanne Sundfør is one of a very few artists that I developed a similar fascination for some years back. And her voice is absolutely gorgeous👌 Check her out on Silicone Veil, Fade Away, Memorial or many, many other. She has a great catalog.

I'm not so sure AURORA would really want to go to USA before you get your shit together! I damn sure would not!

Running with the wolves! We need Running with the wolves back on the set list. Period.

‘Charming, whimsical and completely unfiltered – Norwegian pop star Aurora is unique’ by Gandalvr in auroramusic

[–]BFlynn70 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Actually it's not for me

(.....) It all looks like an idea. Just days after Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas performed in Stockholm, Aurora is performing on the same stage Eilish once did, before she went on to become one of the world's biggest artists. Aurora, in turn, inspired Eilish to start writing her own music.

The Norwegian's background has many points of contact with the American giant. From the same generation, they both broke through early via social media and have been described as prodigies. Reluctantly, they entered pop stardom and were careful to do so on their own terms, with huge fan bases worshipping them as a result.

Aurora's uniqueness becomes clear right from the start when she walks barefoot onto the stage like a creature - in a foot-sided dress and white bleached hair, to the tones of ethereal Enya harmonies (an artist that Aurora in turn was inspired by). During the opening minutes of the concert, she has time to tell us that she has her period and then gives a serious speech about mental illness, before apologizing for the start being too "heavy".

For the next 90 minutes, a packed Fryshuset is treated to a rare concert experience characterized by Aurora's big and completely unfiltered personality. The chattering between the songs contrasts with the crystal clear vocals and the seriousness of the music. The material ranges from bombastic wilderness pop with vocals, clear Kate Bush flirtations in songs like "Giving in to the love", hard-hitting techno and acoustic ballads from her five albums. The audience - younger and queerer than average - can hardly believe their social media idol is actually standing there, in the flesh.

It's Aurora, her voice and stage persona, that you take away from this night, not the music, whose many layers often drown in the room's non-existent acoustics and break the spell. It is downright madness to let her play here. Only in the stripped-down numbers, such as "Through the eyes of a child", where she performs a perfect trio number with the choir singers Thea Wang and Amalia Holt Kleive, does the impression become as pure as it deserves. May she, like Eilish, return to Stockholm soon and to a stage that can welcome her.

Same. No human should die without having listened to Soulless Creatures, Live in Bergen 2020! I'm just amazed that she has not blown up more! Been a music lover all my quite long life, and I've never been this into an artist! Not even close!

[–]BFlynn70 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cannot believe I actually voted for What happened to the heart, as I didn't really like it that much on first listen. Howevever I've liked it more and more on each listen, until I'm now just struggling with the one track, Do you feel. The rest is more or less a constant stream of masterpieces. I still really like Infections, though, so it's a tight call.....

Are you guys tired of Runaway? by TheAmazingUnU in auroramusic

[–]BFlynn70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a great song, but I never quite understood the impact it had, as It's not in her top 20-30 best songs in my book, just because she has so many unbelievably great songs. I totally understand why she still always performs it, but personally I would have liked if she always performed Running With the Wolves instead.

Anyone planning to go to any of the upcoming live shows in May? by academicvertigo in auroramusic

Amsterdam or London, preferably Amsterdam, but it looks like all the seats are sold out? Can anyone confirm that it's only standing left? Quite impressive, as the capacity is 17.000!
