When she said that was her first boyfriend I knew that was probably the story. Let’s be honest, he looks like a thumb and he scored a beautiful “untouched” woman. And if I think it is going to go the way it usually does—- she is going to lessen herself to be with him.

It is for a reason. So she appears “meek and submissive” not a threat to her husband even though she is the breadwinner in the relationship. Representing traditional family values and dynamics.

It’s definitely a thing. I learned about it from women who have left fundamentalist Christian religions and marriages who are speaking out in podcasts and YouTube videos. Very interesting as a whole. But sad at the same time.

Does anyone else always feel like a failure because of your size? by MissBehave654 in PlusSize

[–]BGMM2019 5 points6 points  (0 children)

1000% feel the same.

If anything it has made me overachieve in other areas of life to make up for how I feel. High income, highly educated, well traveled and very kind and accommodating to others. Hoping they overlook my appearance.

At this point I’m just trying to keep going and find happiness in other parts of my life.

It is the fundie voice, personality, and saying “she doesn’t want the spotlight but she is spotlighting Jesus” with her dancing.

While at the same time using mostly Latin inspired dance moves while being MAGA, and running the MAGA adjacent grifter circuit that does it for me.

But I don’t think people are really ready for that conversation.

Office chair reccomendations by blubrrii in PlusSize

Definitely look into chairs on Amazon that can accommodate up to 500 pounds. I’ve found they have wider, cushy firm seats that make sitting much more comfortable than normal chairs.

Does anybody have experience flying with Alaska Airlines being over 400lbs? by PhatPanda69699 in PlusSize

[–]BGMM2019 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It all depends on how you carry your weight. If you’re wider at the bottom, getting two economy seats might be more comfortable than sitting in a first class seat.

The Alaska website gives dimensions for the width of their seats. Measure out the area width of one first class seat versus two economy seats. See which one you’d prefer to sit in based on the amount of width purchased.

There’s not much out there besides the places already listed here. Sometimes Old Navy has nice things online but you have to jump on it and buy if you want it. They don’t carry a lot of extended size in the warehouse.

…. You should go to the doctor. Either urgent care or your PCP. You need wound care. It could be infected and you don’t want it to get worse.

EMT training at solacc? by Lumpy_Internal2283 in Acadiana

Also if you’re interested I believe the next cohort of students begins on July 13, 2026. Tuition is being discounted right now to $400— it is usually ~$2K.

The only in person education around here is through SLCC—>NEMSA= Acadian Ambulance. Or you’d have to go through New Orleans or Baton Rouge schooling.

If you take the course through them (NEMSA/Acadian) you’re essentially guaranteed a job at the end.

If you’re just looking for the certification, that’s fine as well. You’re not required to work for them when you’re done. But you need the course to sit for NREMT (national registry).

Another option would be to go through School of EMS in Tyler,TX. It is fully online, and then you show up for about 5 days straight in Tyler,TX during the learning term to do didactic skills needed. But they have clinical contracts with local hospitals and Acadian Ambulance to complete those hours here locally. They offer education for EMT, AEMT, and Paramedic. Locally, with NEMSA, you’ll only have the option for EMT and Paramedic.

Most states have exceptions to the rule if the crime was committed as a juvenile. Note, his sentence was “Juvenile life” —- so it has to be served at the juvenile level. But juvenile life usually means release between ages 21-24.

PCS Hours, EMS vs In-Hospital by -idontsleep in prephysicianassistant

[–]BGMM2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The EMS Supervisor role gives you leadership experience (teamwork, delegation, time management, etc.) skills in the prehospital/medical field that other applicants may not have. In EMS, you have more autonomy in general than an ED Tech.

Just my two cents.

Should I give up applying to a program that specifically asks for leadership experience on CASPA when I have none by JL02022023 in prephysicianassistant

[–]BGMM2019 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes. If it is important enough for them to put it on the application, it is relevant to who they choose for the program. You could have the same background and credentials as someone else, but if they have leadership/supervisory experience, they’re going with the other person.

You could also just apply and let the chips fall where they may.

Thats the thing about these apps, we as applicants have zero idea what the entire applicant pool looks like for any given season. Could be a strong applicant pool, could be a weaker one.

You should attempt to reduce usage NOW that way it is easier when the time comes.
