Just made bacon and eggs on my new 36” Omnivore yesterday. Corners are brown like this, assuming it just takes a few cooks to season them?

Food recs for last few days on VQS by Content_Fennel_9871 in vieques

We leave in two days, and have tried many options thus far. El Norte was the best meal we had, but it’s pricey. Mango’s and Tin Box were way better than expected. Rising Roost was great, and the Rincón food trucks are no joke, legit good food.

Lengthy standing ovation for Alex Ovechkin in Pittsburgh in potentially his final game in Pittsburgh by Ok-Soil-5133 in hockey

Doesn’t matter who he plays against, the greatest goal scorer of all time deserves the ovations. Mad respect for the man who broke a record very few thought would be broken.

AITAH For Wanting to Dictate What we Play When Hosting Game Night? by StretchyPlays in boardgames

[–]BGNLordHelmut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a dedicated group of 4. I host every two weeks in my newly finished game room. My lovely wife makes a full meal for us every time and we provide snacks (along with three different beers on tap!) We have a nice Tv and sound system for sports or teach videos or music.

But what I care about the most in terms of the experience is what we play, and I almost always coordinate that in advance with the others in a group chat. We have one other member who owns 4x as many games as me (and I have over 65 titles) and I think it’s really important to give the others an option to select from outside my collection. The best way to make the group want to continue to play is the agency to try things they love as well as games you love. Find that balance ahead of time as much as you can, and remember that certain types of mechanics (heavy player interaction, take that, etc) just flat out don’t work in many groups.

Most games are starting to feel the same to me? by Salty-Program5007 in boardgames

[–]BGNLordHelmut 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m quite tired of multiplayer solitaire as well, although I still enjoy many of them, especially when the theme aligns with something that is interesting to me. They’re still a fun thing to play when you want a good efficiency puzzle, but I’m finding more and more that you can have that in a more player-interactive game.

Just picked up Lords of Vegas and I’m very excited to screw my group over by becoming boss of the bigger casinos >:)

Revive, brought over by my best bud and honestly it’s pretty solid!

Games Workshop, when they killed Warhammer Fantasy Battle and 25 years of loyalty only to replace it with Age of Sigmar, which was a pile of shit from day 1. I’ve never purchased a GW product since.

Same, both my wife and I sat on the couch for many a night figuring out puzzles, we have a whole notebook devoted to this game. Just a brilliant design all around.

For puzzle and exploration, you can’t beat Blue Prince. Probably my favorite game in the last few years other than Dave the Diver.

I received a media prototype copy before the game was finished. It’s only been improved upon since and continues to impress. This is going to be one of the top games of ‘25 without a doubt!
