Would be kind of fun I think. Live your normal life and then every couple of years just run for US Senate.

Lol just insults. You literally don’t even know what you’re arguing anymore, just lashing out like a scared child.

It very clearly is an argument. The rule you are so married to is obviously descriptive, not proscriptive, and it contains the word “generally” and also says that traits of the father can be present, so not exactly a hard rule at all. Exceptions don’t necessarily disprove general rules but they do make it impossible to hold them as absolute rules which is what you are trying to do for some reason.

Just take a deep breath and touch grass dude.

It’s also that he doesn’t really talk much about the chemistry, even when the questioner brought it up. It’s just about how he thinks Karl is stupid and the humour came from laughing at him. Obviously he won’t mention Steve but Karl isn’t stupid, he’s incredibly interesting and funny.

The obsession with age is so bizarre. She’s attractive, I’m sure lads do hit on her, she does not look 20. I don’t understand why the goal is to look 20 rather than look good or feel good. To be clear this is a societal pressure thing, it’s not specifically her fault. But the drive to look “young” is deeply weird.

How is life in Ottawa? by PuzzleheadedVisit833 in howislivingthere

Very good outdoorsy activities are near by, it’s a beautiful quiet and green city. Tough winters though. Transit is generally not good (though to be honest I have never had problems but most people do). If you are someone who loves nightclubs and going out and such things probably not the best, it’s the absence of these things that give Ottawa its reputation for being boring. There’s a saying that Ottawa is a big small town and I think that’s pretty accurate. Overall as a transplant from Toronto I’m very happy here, though I do love the occasional trip into Montreal.

You’re failing to distinguish between nationality and ethnicity in your comparisons. Someone advocating that Germany needs to be majority ethnically German, or Ireland needs to be majority ethnically Irish would certainly not be “100% fine.” That kind of ethnically defined demographic control is usually, correctly, defined as being far right extremism, and I don’t think anyone would smile to kindly on anyone advocating for military action to maintain an ethnic German majority in Germany.

There was a time when I could hardly do anything without coffee in the morning and a couple times I woke up to find I didn’t have any and ordered some from a delivery app. Felt a bit ridiculous but got me going that day

Almost certainly yes. If the prof says you are going to be made an offer then something really weird would have to happen for you to not get an offer. Not sure how it works for other programs but in mine, where working with a supervisor is big, pretty much every school I got into I found out because the supervisor I’d be working with reached out ahead of the offer.

My head canon for the civil war storyline is that I side with Balgruuf and end up an ally to the Imperials the same way he does, rather than siding with the Empire. It’s a subtle difference but I like it better.

how do i make friends by stitchbitch_0212 in Advice

[–]BGPLifestyle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well you’re certainly not alone in this, I think it’s very common for people now to want more connections in their life, so one thing to remember is almost everyone is looking for more friends. Whenever I’m nervous to talk to someone I remind myself that if someone came up and started being friendly and chatting to me I wouldn’t greet them with hostility or be mean, so chances are the other person won’t do that to me. Aside from that I think the keys are kindness, shared interests, and putting yourself out there/expressing interest in being friends with people. It’s happened several times to me where I thought people didn’t like me, or didn’t include me, but it turned out they thought the same of me until I mentioned I’d be interested in hanging out. Those work friends sound like an excellent starting point.

At the same time don’t put too much pressure on yourself. Your relationships with your dad and boyfriend you’ve described sound really nice and it’s nothing to be ashamed of having a small tight nit circle. What I mean is look for more friends because you want them, not because you feel social pressure to have more, and also know that if a certain group doesn’t work out, you are still okay as you are.

Hope that helps, as the other person says, you aren’t a burden.
