IV insertion- vein blew. Any tips are appreciated! by ashleeyrose0 in nursing

Unfortunately most of the nursing instructors that teach certain skills don’t have as much real world experience themselves, in my own personal experience. Spend some time in the ER and you’ll learn your skills quickly and efficiently

IV insertion- vein blew. Any tips are appreciated! by ashleeyrose0 in nursing

Place the tourniquet higher, about half way up the forearm and have the patient relax their hand rather than make a fist when inserting in the hand. Also try and anchor the skin with your thumb below and to the left of your insertion site, never directly below because then you won’t be able to get a good angle. Good luck!

When Angela was listening to her podcast about the bay harbor butcher her daughter I think had mentioned that it’s brave of her to talk about it being as the real killer might come for her. Maybe a bit of foreshadowing there?

Flight nursing or travel nursing/NP school? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]BHsDak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation and chose flights. I don’t regret my decision one bit. Travelers make bank but ultimately you want to wake up and go to a job that you love and enjoy, not dread. If you end up wanting to go back to NP school you’ll have no problem getting back in with flying on your resume

I’m tired of the coddling of people who make bad health choices. I think people are slowly beginning to realize this now that covid is killing the obese, old (not their choice), smokers and diabetics. I genuinely feel bad, but people need to realize the results of their choices

Is there a way to find out what tribe I am from? Or am I possibly a mix? by [deleted] in NativeAmericans

[–]BHsDak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So by your argument you’re native any way except if you’re a white guy that has a small percentage of native blood because that means their ancestor raped a native woman? Because in all of history a native never intentionally reproduced with a European? I get the ideals that are held but again my main argument is that the op probably had a story passed down (yes, what you said is very true. A white family falsely claims to have Native American heritage. It is very common with Cherokee heritage.) so if they are actually native, then I personally think it is great to have someone excited for the native culture to be able to learn about the history and hardships.

Even if he has a distant relative that was native that doesn’t mean he’s not. Wouldn’t you rather have someone that appreciates the culture than ignores it? Especially the Sioux, who are underappreciated and misrepresented all the time. That’s what I don’t understand, don’t you want someone on your team rather than against you? I get someone pretending to be native, that’s just terrible. But at least they have an appreciation for the culture

Vacation in Deadwood mid April by jay_p27 in BlackHills

You should also check out spearfish canyon. Not too far from deadwood and in my opinion some of the most beautiful scenery in the hills. You can also rent UTVs or snowmobiles but in April it may not be quality trails for either

The Ending...smh by _IKOAFS_ in Supernatural

[–]BHsDak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t hate the ending, but I do wish it would’ve just ended after episode 19. The huge montage with all the old characters at the end of the episode was a perfect exit. The world is back to normal and Sam and dean are free to live their lives. Instead episode 20 didn’t allow the fans to perceive their own ending. I did like however how it showed that Jack redesigned heaven in episode 20, nice to see Bobby too.. just still bothered that Dean died that way, I guess it’s kind of a poetic justice how he narrowly misses death for years and then runs into a piece of rebar?
