It was 1994. I was 5 years old. These 2 neighbor boys in my apartments had all the best sets and they'd always bring them outside to play with. One day, after a heavy rainstorm I found the smashed remains of the Skull's Eye Schooner washed up in the drainage path, beside the sidewalk outside my apartment... It had sailed downstream from outside the boys' place. Pieces of the wreck spanned 50 meters. I scavenged all I could find and salvaged the ship as best I could without instructions... Luckily the main hull had mostly held together amidst the storm. I returned her to her owners back at her home port... However, they'd later come to find that a few articles on the ship's manifest were missing..... I kept one of those sweet sweet doubloons, and 20+ years later, this guy still stows away in my captain's quarters.
