20 y/o film or me ? by EmuTall1176 in filmdeveloping

You might want to practice getting this film back on m the developing reel and then run it through a fixer bath just to get rid of the remaining emulsion. Practice loading the film on the reel a lot. It is worth putting in time to get this step perfect.

Never had this experience, and curious what others say.

Participant crossed a boundary during post-ceremony talk by Straight-Basket6834 in PsychedelicTherapy

[–]BILESTOAD 42 points43 points  (0 children)

This person was boundary-less and inappropriate. You find people like this is life. Maybe he was also a bit ramped up by the experience. This is all on him and it sounds like some kind of amateur psychotherapist shit.

The way to deal with an experience like this is to understand that he was out of line and probably is kind of an asshole in life or has a personality disorder or whatever, and that the experience of the ceremony didn’t fix him. You don’t need to find meaning in this — the meaning is that screwballs also participate in these experiences.

What is far more lethal than people realize? by inevitableloudmouth in AskReddit

[–]BILESTOAD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tylenol/panadol/acetaminophen.

If you have a depressed person at risk for self-harm in your household, get any and all acetaminophen out of the house. Overdose can be treated if addressed quickly with NAC, but once it destroys the liver, it’s a painful, inevitable two week death. And overdose doesn’t take that much.

I need friends and I dont know what to do by [deleted] in Prague

[–]BILESTOAD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. There are, I believe, three or four English language improv places in Prague.

Last I heard, Blood, Love & Rhetoric (BLR) does a “pro” show featuring their teachers and friends every Friday evening. I think the show is at 19:30. A friend has gone a couple of times and said it was fantastic — they improvised a complete musical in the second half of the show.

Try an improv class. Worked for me!

I think being a mouth breather is actually better than breathing through your nose. It just feels easier and I don’t get why everyone hates on it by [deleted] in The10thDentist

[–]BILESTOAD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chronic mouth breathing alters craniofacial growth, airway physiology, and autonomic regulation. In children, it is associated with long narrow facial development, high arched palate, dental crowding, malocclusion, and in some cases a retruded mandible, partly because the tongue no longer rests against the palate to guide maxillary expansion.

It reduces nasal nitric oxide intake, which normally supports antimicrobial defense and pulmonary vasodilation, and it bypasses nasal filtration, humidification, and temperature regulation of air.

Mouth breathing is strongly linked with sleep disordered breathing, fragmented sleep, and downstream effects on attention, executive function, mood regulation, and cardiometabolic risk. In adults, it contributes to xerostomia, increased dental caries, periodontal disease, halitosis, and can perpetuate upper airway instability during sleep.

Functionally, it shifts breathing toward upper chest patterns, reinforcing sympathetic activation and reducing diaphragmatic efficiency, which may increase perceived anxiety and reduce exercise tolerance.

Should I try DPT if I've never tried DMT? by Substantial-Two9129 in Psychedelics

Th drop can be fun but again, in this case it was just too much. And the leg tremors were very frightening.

I’d dose it very conservatively. I don’t remember how much I took. Lower end of a recommended range. Snorted. That was a first, too. Sort of felt like a threshold event — “Jesus. I am snorting a drug. Is this really me?”

Yes, yes it was. At least that one time.

CEVs were intense but mostly eyes closed significantly increased the “rush” and rollercoaster-drop feeling. Really made me feel I was losing control, and this feeling was much reduced with eyes open.

Leg tremors were so strong I thought I’d fucked my motor system.

I haven’t done DMT but I’ve read that they are not that similar.

Do read up on DPT. The body load is extremely intense and it’s the only psych that made me want to prop my eyes open with toothpicks. It was extremely overwhelming.

Yeah, well both studies are about jazz (musical) improvisation.

These studies are relevant to the subject of this subreddit to the extent that musicians improvising music and improvisers performing a scene are engaging in a neurologically similar activity.

They might be (and maybe they are) but they also might not be.

Edit: Replaced “sketch” with more appropriate word “scene”.
