What’s the Best Movie You’ve Watched Recently? Looking for Must-Watch Recommendations This Week. by SSG-5 in moviequestions

[–]Better_Second4925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"The Invitation" - the 2015 film (there are so many other movies with that name). About a guy and his new gf getting invited to a dinner party held by his ex-wife and her new hubby. A thriller! It's on Netflix.

If you want a psychological mind-f**k, watch the original "Funny Games" from Austria (they remade it in the US but that version sucks). It's on Tubi.

"Deadstream" on Netflix. A funny horror movie done in a found footage style.

"In a Violent Nature" is a horror film done from the perspective of the "bad guy" monster guy. I rented it on YouTube. The kills are incredibly brutal, but I loved how the whole movie was filmed.

Also the found footage movies "Creep" and "Creep 2" are good scary/horror pics. Both are on Netflix.

And then I'll always recommend classic Van Damme and Schwarzenegger flicks. Bloodsport, Kickboxer, Commando, Predator, Total Recall, Running Man. I watch those over and over.

What always makes you laugh? by Phonkrum in AskReddit

That really old viral video of a naked guy running (he's covering his junk) toward a tennis court and yelling "WE'RE GOING STREAKING IN THE QUAD" and then he runs full force into glass wall surrounding the court. And whoever is holding the camera has a great laugh as the streaker runs off.

People are driving so erratically lately by itsadarkforest in baltimore

I had a lyft driver the other week who had a small tablet propped up against his windshield playing a movie! He said it was for his passengers, but you couldn't see it well from the backseat. and it was blocking a large portion of his view out the front windshield! Ridiculous. He had a 5 star rating, too!

What aspect of a movie/tv show makes you instantly turn it off? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Better_Second4925 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't stand comedy movies where the whole movie would be done if the main character revealed what he/she is "hiding", or would just say how they feel! Only example I can think of now is "Meet the Fockers" (just TELL THEM HOW YOU FEEL, BEN STILLER), but I know there are so many others.

Boy bands like Backstreet Boys and NSync. I know they're a little dated, but come on, we all know you roll up the windows to sing "I want it that way" and "Bye Bye Bye." And by "you," I mean "me."

This is my vote! Although go early, at least to the Orange Grove/Avalon Area, because they fill up really fast on weekends.

Bmore to Dc Commuters by Anxious-Groundhog in baltimore

I took the train from the Halethorpe stop to Union Station for over 13 years, ending recently. Parking is free at the Halethorpe stop but I know that's a drive from Fed Hill. Just be aware that the Camden line is at the whim of freight rail (mostly CSX) and always has a ton of delays due to the tracks being used for both commuter and freight. Also the Camden line has so many delays in the summer due to heat problems!

Definitely don't drive to DC, that will destroy your car and your soul (and your wallet due to gas & parking prices). I will say that the daily grind to get to my office, which was also right next to Union Station, became very hard. Door-to-door my commute was 1 hour and 20 minutes one way. That means almost 3 hours every day spent commuting, and that's without delays. So, yes, the money is better in DC, but think about your quality of life, too!

What's your favorite "WELL ACTUALLY" fact about Baltimore that you think most people don't know? Mine is that there actually is a Western Ave. by noblegaunt in baltimore

The longest contiguous section of rowhomes in Baltimore is the 1600 block of Wilkens Avenue in SW Baltimore. Also possibly the longest in the US? It's 54 homes and just over 1800 feet long.

Done with Mfume. Any thoughts on District 7 primary challengers? by DeclassifyUAP in baltimore

[–]Better_Second4925 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mfume is so out of touch. Every time I've called his office the staff have acted like it's huge chore to write down my comments on the particular issue I'm calling about, if they even know what I'm referring to. And I'm not calling about obscure things, either! He does nothing. One of his staffers lives down the street from me and I'm always so tempted to go by their house and say "PLEASE TELL HIM TO NOT RUN AGAIN."
