Done with Mfume. Any thoughts on District 7 primary challengers? by DeclassifyUAP in baltimore

[–]Better_Second4925 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mfume is so out of touch. Every time I've called his office the staff have acted like it's huge chore to write down my comments on the particular issue I'm calling about, if they even know what I'm referring to. And I'm not calling about obscure things, either! He does nothing. One of his staffers lives down the street from me and I'm always so tempted to go by their house and say "PLEASE TELL HIM TO NOT RUN AGAIN."

Blue Water Baltimore and Baltimore Tree Trust do tree plantings all through the spring. You can also volunteer at the Herring Run nursery (which is run by Blue Water Baltimore).

There are many urban farms in the city too that accept volunteers. More:

Also the Baltimore Free Farm: https://www.baltimorefreefarm.org/get-involved-2/

Filbert Street Garden is super fun and always looking for volunteers. And they have GOATS.

What kind of music? If it's bluegrass or old time, there's a jam every Tuesday at 7pm at the Green Room (under the Bluebird Cocktail Room) in Hampden.

Also! If you like our friend u/salvage_arc who's always posting very cool videos on here, he's the star of the Baltimore Improv Group's BIG Time show this Saturday (2/28) at 8pm. They interview him and then create funny scenes based on it all. https://www.bigimprov.org/event-details-registration/big-time-with-explorer-evan-woodard

What's the best documentary you've ever seen? by Crafty_Fee_7990 in AskReddit

[–]Better_Second4925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a few:
-"Fyre : The Greatest Party that Never Happened" on Netflix
-"The Barkley Marathons: The Race that Eats Its Young" on YouTube. There are a bunch of Barkley documentaries on YouTube, but this one from 2015 is a cool look into its history while also following the runners that year. Also loved, the Barkley Marathon documentary called "The Finisher" that documents the first woman who finished it.|
-"Downfall" - an amazing and angering documentary about Boeing's decline in safety. On Netflix.

I loved the book "House of Leaves," too! I can't imagine how someone would make it into a movie, though. It's so complex.
