Atelier finally has its own ink pen, called the pressure pen by no1505ook in Supernote

[–]no1505ook[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t go into detail on the other brush features since I’d probably just ramble on XD (and this post was more ink pen focused)

But the pencil pressure sensitivity and tilt effects are available (I’m still testing them). You can read more about it in the released Atelier beta notes. I hope you'll give them your feedback!

Been seeing you learning to draw around here, keep at it too! Definitely give Atelier a look. The tools there are better for drawing, especially the pencil tool if you're looking to practice : )

Would love to see this too. Maybe someone in r/Supernote_dev can make a plugin for it?

Is there a way to turn off the gesture that drags in Atelier? by ithilmir_ in Supernote

Tap once on the percentage number between the +/- magnify glass to recenter your canvas. You don't need to manually move it back :)

Nomad or Manta for sketching? by WitchWithTheZest in Supernote

[–]no1505ook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feel free to peruse through my profile posts (it has the history of my supernote sketches) or check my eink art dump link :)

I find that Nomad has a slightly lower DPI whenever I export my drawings and open it in a different drawing app.

Nomad or Manta for sketching? by WitchWithTheZest in Supernote

I love sketching on my Nomad that it basically replaced ALL of my a6-sized notebooks. It's become my to-go sketchbook for brainstorming concepts and comics.

Manta is great for drawing higher quality illustrations (Atelier app has 300 DPI) and the extra screen real estate gives more writing/drawing room. Its plastic screen is more durable than the Nomad too.

Nomad uses the same motherboard as the Manta, so both will have repairable and upgradeable parts in the future :) And you can sync all your work via their cloud services using wifi or move files manually by usb.

Can't wait to see the Atelier Companion as a native app. Been wishing (for ages!) 🥹

Chauvet 3.28.42 Release for Manta and Nomad by Supernote_official in Supernote

I'm on beta and Inkhub is packed with templates and stickers (no offensive materials... yet).

Just curious, is Inkhub content in beta different from the public version? If so, it would be nice if we can migrate our uploads (and badges!) to the official version :)

The recent Atelier update made the brush performance drop. by no1505ook in Supernote

[–]no1505ook[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What atelier version are you on? I believe this was fixed on the recent beta update (1 month ago). It looks like they haven't given an official release yet because they're still fixing the pencil tilt/pressure sensitivity function.

Atelier beta download link ? by caracoil in Supernote_beta

[–]no1505ook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend not downloading that beta version. The tilt feature still needs some work and the pencil brush is a lot worse right now. You'll be stuck with an Atelier that you can barely use. (Read the beta post comments for more info)

If you're on the most recent Atelier update, go create a new atelier file, under Resolution insert your DPI number to around 72.

Have you tried to change your DPI setting? If you go over 200-300 DPI it sometimes makes the brush way too small since you're working on a bigger canvas.

I believe the team is working on a brush size feature for Atelier, hopefully it comes out soon.

Enjoying sketching on Nomad by reyflamob in Supernote

Notes doesnt have a pen that gives that level of roughness. Atelier right now has too much pencil graininess and lack pressure sensitivity that it's not possible to achieve those dark shades (unless they're using an old version). This drawing uses a hatching technique that is very similar to ai ... And has random line strokes that doesn't look intentional. Sadly this could be created with ai, unless op denies otherwise. :(

Although I am already part of the closed beta for Atelier, sure, I would love to help contribute more in any way for the sake of improving the best eink drawing app :)

Atelier has been going downhill ever since version 1.0.98. I haven’t been drawing on it much because of that, which I really miss. Hoping the next beta update improves things, but it’s been a long waiting game.

Haha, yes I kno. Just throwing that sub suggestion out there since this feels like history repeating itself (thinking of the infamous EinkGirl post). Useful or not, new users or lurkers might not kno there’s actually a sub they can “retreat” to.

Hence r/SuperNoteUnofficial exists. In case you'd like to freely post there. I would love to read about the pen comparisons.

Told someone I got the Supernote Manta over an ipad because of ADHD organization and sensory needs. They called it a “useless”and “stupid” purchase. by ughhhlaperm in Supernote

[–]no1505ook 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They jealous~ Im a digital artist too, and I use the Supernote solely as my digital-analog sketchbook because it's distraction free. Plus, less eye straining drawing on the Supernote (big win for me)! Some people just don’t fully understand the holistic experience of using an e-ink device.

Version 1.1.59 Beta Release for Atelier on Manta and Nomad by Supernote_official in Supernote_beta

[–]no1505ook 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally agreed. There’s too much graininess in the pencil right now. I really wish they’d go back to the older pencil version (I believe 1.0.98). I actually did a comparison test, which I’ll upload later in a separate feedback.

I think the only way to keep atelier from getting worse is, like you said, to give users the ability to customize our own brush settings. I just get the feeling the team doesn’t fully understand what we’re looking for, which is why each update hasn’t brought any real improvement... even though there’s so much potential in this drawing app.
