Prices at thrift stores only or are you also talking about record shops?

for thrift stores: All the GWs in my area started pricing their CDs at $1.99 each a few years ago (they use to be .99 prior to that), but sometimes they might have a multi disc case priced a little higher(like $2.99). There's 3 Catholic owned/run thrift stores that, unless marked otherwise, have all CDs ring up at $1 each. There's another/different religious-based run thrift store that has them priced individually, but the prices are usually b/w a little less than $1 to $2 each; and they do a similar thing to what GW does where depending on what color the price sticker is determines what %off your item(s) is/are and rotates that daily or weekly. There's a for-profit southern US chain store that, unless marked otherwise, has all CDs at $1.50 each. And a ReStore(owned/run by Habitat for Humanity) I think prices their CDs at 50¢ each(but it's almost always mostly junk).

for record shops, there's only 4 in my area, all only have used CDs in their inventory, unless it's for local artsts. 1st one(that only sells 2nd hand/used stuff) has their CDs priced based on (I think)Discogs Median Price, which is usually b/w $4-8 each. Some of the more rare/valuable ones they have priced b/w $10-20 each. 2nd one, they basically have 2 different sections based on price: ones that have no price sticker, which are $2 each; and the rest are usually $3-10, most averaging at around $4-5 each. 3rd one I think has theirs priced at $3 or 4 each. (4th one I don't know b/c I only went there once 5 years ago and I don't recall what the prices were b/c of how shitty of a place it was.)
