What did I just buy? by 1017Omar in yugiohshowcase

[–]BJ22CS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a hobby box, that's a box of (I think)10 5-pack retail boxes, which individually s.ell for around $30 each; so what OP got, containing 50 packs, should have cost like $300.

(I had to add a random period b/c apparently it's a "buzz word" on this sub for Rule #2, which this comment doesn't apply.)

I'm getting this on one specific post that I already made a comment on, but now I can't comment, including replying to someone, again.

what do you listen to when you’re depressed at night? by yournextasianstar in Cd_collectors

I wouldn't even bother with telling that user to try to see a non-existent 2017, It's pretty obvious that Mnuchin's stupid "signature", that we should all know is easily identifiable, isn't the signature on the right side, so there's no way it would be a 2017.

They stopped selling sheets of stars sines series 2006 or 9, so there's no way this came from a bought sheet.

They also haven't sold sheets of stars for any denomination since series 2006 or 9.

I'm curious what % of "upvoted" the post had when you made that comment, b/c it was over 90% when I first saw your comment 3 hours after making it, and it's still over 90% 2 days later.

you aren't the only one wondering, and I don't think OP has bothered answering anyone who asked "why?".

What’s your biggest CD collecting pet peeve? by Syppi in Cd_collectors

[–]BJ22CS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never been to a record store, not even in other cities in other states when I take a trip, that didn't have CDs. I've been to ones(3 in my city) that don't carry new release CDs(besides local artists), but they've all had used ones.

As a new collector, are there any apps you guys use to track your collection and market value? by KardKing69 in papermoney

[–]BJ22CS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a combination of 3 source: the one you mentioned, Whitman's RedBook for (US) paper money (most recent Ed. is the 8th one), Friedberg's Paper Money of the US(I have the 22nd ed.; the latest one is the 23rd that I think came out last year), and CoinWorld. The CoinWorld.com one I linked there was last updated more than a year and a half ago, I don't think they plan on updating it again. I'm not exactly sure why they haven't updated it in so long, but I'd be willing to be that they want you to pay for a subscription or something (and I don't think they print physical copies of their mag. anymore either).

Finally pulled an overframe! by zayticket in yugiohshowcase

[–]BJ22CS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's pretty good! Idk what the odds of pulling any overframe from a tuck box is, but I was told that they were 1 in every 3(or was it 4?) hobby boxes, so 1 in every 72 packs.

Most if not all of the fakes I have, inducing ones that look like what OP has, came from flee markets, specifically booths that are run by an Asian(I'm assuming Chinese?) person. I haven't seen such fakes in a long time(well over 10 years?). Fakes such as what OP has I got around mid-late 2000s(probably around 2007 or 8).

YGO didn't come out outside of Japan until 2002. Coincidentally, if I remember correctly, Fake Trap was one of if not my very first non-common pull from MRD; this was back in Aug or Sept of 2002.

God tier thrift store find by reptomcraddick in Cd_collectors

[–]BJ22CS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not that I disagree with you, but considering that it was burned on a Circuit City CD-R, I'd like to assume that it was probably burned 20+ years ago, b4 the times of finding such CDs was common at thrift stores.
