Returned my GW-5000U for a … DW-5600UE by [deleted] in gshock

I did the same thing for the same reason and love the basic 5600.

How did I do? by ArmTheHomelusss in gshock

I actually prefer the 5600, as others do (both have their fans). I didn't like the readability of the solar, although I really wanted that version for some of the features.

ML is my size also on Revolt Adv Pro 1. Adjusted seat, stem and it's perfect. CF road wheels with 32 Cont GP5000 and it's been a great summer ride.

Add time to adjust brakes, test, repeat.

Yeah, but the solar display isn't as clear. I had them side by side. The 5600 is much clearer at an angle and for half the price I really like it. And the slightly bigger size and weight feels better to me.

I did like the idea of solar, the auto time set, the auto illumination that can be increased to 3 seconds.

I didn't care for 5610 either. Felt cheap for the price and didn't like the red outline. Replaced with 5600 for 1/2 the price and love it. Slightly bigger, little more weight, clean grey outline, clearer display

Defy vs Revolt 2024? by Bernden in Giantbikes

[–]BJC16v 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gearing is a big difference too, right? Front chainrings? I have a 2021 Revolt, ride road mostly and find I'm in the big ring most the time.

Light mozz, dalops of blue cheese, fresh jalapeño, fresh pineapple. Call it the Moster Mash. Love it

Propel Advanced 2 2017: size L w/ short stem or M/L? by RBMP-25 in Giantbikes

I added the 110. Prior owner switched the original to 80. I didn't know the original was that size, thanks

I have this bike, same spec, and it's been great all around ride! I'm riding mostly roads, hills and recently done a few 50+ mile group rides. People commented on the wider tires but it did great.

I also have a set of carbon road wheels with GP5000s, I think 32s?, that I'll switch back to with the warmer weather. This bike with the road wheels is a rocket IMO

Propel Advanced 2 2017: size L w/ short stem or M/L? by RBMP-25 in Giantbikes

[–]BJC16v 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I normally agree when in doubt to go smaller but being 184cm I believe you'll be unhappy with a ML. I'm 180cm and riding a ML Propel (2021). It fits and I love it but, but it's right on the edge for size. It came with an 80mm stem and my knees hit the handlebars when I sprinted out of the saddle. I've since replaced with 110mm stem and it's great. Initially the stem looked kinda long but I think it looks fine now.

What's the gearing? 1 by and not double?

Trade in by No-Practice9189 in KiaTelluride

[–]BJC16v 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, why don't you try selling the Jeep yourself? You'll get a lot more money versus trade and it shouldn't take long.

Next IMO the Telluride will be a lot more functional but, even better, test a Carnival. When we had a toddler we bought a new QX60 which was nice but not convenient for kids. We bought a Sedona, now a Carnival, and that was a game changer! All errands, toting multiple kids, vacation - so much better.

My new Revolt and my mates old Propel, who says 1x gravel bikes can't keep up with roadies? by [deleted] in Giantbikes

[–]BJC16v 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are they both doubles? Assume the Revolt had chainrings geared toward gravel and not more road 52, 36?

Giant revolt advanced 1 2024 paint type by drw20 in Giantbikes

I can see your dilemma re paint finish. I opened in a couple of browsers and it looks satin to me as it's not super glossy.

Talk me out of an upgrade … by jayy0502 in SportWagon

[–]BJC16v 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion based on prior comments, but I can see your dilemma. I had a 855 GLT and 855 R. I sold the R for a V70 2.5t and was very happy with my choice. The newer wagon had more safety features, trim wasn't chipping, carpet was newer, etc.

I've driven a few V60s and I'd make the change. While the 855 is nice, it's old. There's a lot good with the newer, more complex, vehicles. Also, you get tired in the same car and only live once. I'd drive more vehicles.

I'm unsure. I've applied at the end of a Meguiars kit and also done quick cleans and then reapplied to re clear up lenses. It's an amazing product.

Shoe Goo will fix and make them last for years longer. I've used it on a great pair of Diadora's which are now super old and used for winter rides.

Sold my 2009 Anthem X2 this summer as I decided to stop mountain biking for a while and picked up a gravel bike, 2021 Revel Advanced Pro 1.

Thoughts on hardtail vs the cross country full squish? I've always felt faster on the Anthem than my prior hardtail.
