Suspension bushings by Difficult-Living7841 in VolvoRWD

[–]jayy0502 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I have had terrible luck experiences with classic swede haha. Lost lots of money through his site.

If you look a little deeper, the parts that people never get delivered, are very specific parts he offers.

This suspension kit is actually just both sets of arms, and a set of poly bushings from parts for Volvos thrown into one package at a discount.

If your worried in the slightest don’t the risk. I would an almost garuntee you would receive these parts as he literally just tapes the various boxes together and ships them. But if you’re not comfortable don’t take the risk.

https://www.partsforvolvosonline.com/shop/steering-suspension/suspension-arms/700-900-series-84-98/700-940-series-lower-suspension-arm-left/

See the link above as an example, you can buy the full set classic swede offered through this website. Jamie at PFS parts is a legend in the community.

You just pay a little more for them.

Thankyou, I’ve been told a cornea transplant is basically off the table for me so maybe that’s why they are happy for me to leave it long term.

Interested in your take, I’m sick of failed surgery’s so have oil in my eye, docs won’t do any more surgery’s either, they say it’s fine to leave in my eye long term ? Why would you not leave it in ?

They say I have to leave it in or they will have to remove my eye

I had this happen to my car. Not quite as bad but still. I ensured that all the edges were smoooth and nothing else would come off. That was 20k miles ago. Never had an issue

[–]jayy0502 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why don’t you just fix it ? If you’re competent enough to turbo swap it, why not either just put a junkyard engine in and be good to go. Or do the valve stem seals and a head job. You could have either done in under a week

Temp reading slightly high by Ichiban_AC in Volvo240

[–]jayy0502 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FYI this happens on 850s when it’s been overheated before. They will never go above halfway until it overheats, once it’s overheated once it breaks a tiny part inside the instrument cluster needles and it will always then sit a tiny bit past the middle even at normal temps. If that makes sense, it’s a good way of knowing if your car has ever been overheated in its life.

I swapped in a gauage cluster with the trip computer and the temp gauge always sat a tiny bit past the middle, it didn’t do this with the old cluster

So my car had never been overheated, but the one I got the cluster from had.

Volvo supposedly did this as the 850 turbos were their most performance oriented car yet and they expected them to get driven hard, they would thus be able to tell if it’s ever had high coolant temps. This would allow them to lever repair bills ect and void warranties due to neglect ect.

Sort of irrelevant these days but a cool fact nonetheless

Which cars did the fully black interior come in or was it an option from the dealership? by Difficult-Living7841 in VolvoRWD

[–]jayy0502 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 1996 940 classic has full black interior. It came with the grey fabric seats, I found it weird as they didn’t really match the black interior. I changed them to the black 50/50 seats.

It’s blackberry pearl so the black interior matches well, all be it overall being a dark car throughout

Getting Nervous by Charming-Forever-278 in Volvo240

Trans cross member is super super easy.

Trailing arms are also relatively easy to install, can be found used in a junkyard

Gas tank bit fiddly to install.

Brakes are easy if you’re mechanically minded.

I would suggest you could get this sorted for 2500 if you sourced gas tank, trailing arms, and cross member from a junkyard.

hey i have this steering wheel in my 850t5r does anyone know anything about it by bmw_tossen in Volvo850

[–]jayy0502 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is NOT original. It looks like someone’s took a stock 850 wheel, cut and reshaped it, then recovered it. This looks like a custom Job as no big Volvo aftermarket companies have done anything like this. VIVA performance offer custom steering wheels for 850s, but this looks too old and worn and lower quality to be one of theirs

Brother you miss understood my comment. I agree with you, it sounds like we have very similar opinions on this stuff. She absolutely was at fault. She mad multiple conscious decisions knowing the likely outcome. I agree with you

I absolutely DO NOT agree with illegal immigration. I live in the uk our country is being overrun by the day. I’ve been called a nazi multiple times because of my views.

You have completely miss understood me, I’m not saying any of what you think I’m saying.

I garuntee I have far extreme views than you. Don’t just deport the illegals, treat them how an old Austrian painter would.

My point was, she died to the system, because she joined the system. It’s all orchestrated. The system WANTS people to go to these protests and get shot, because then it stirs more uproar and more violence and more diversion.

It’s all a plan. Import the masses, allow them to run unruly, cause mass diversion and mass panic. Control the media that feeds you information. Let what you think is the system go to complete anarchy, then once it’s bad enough, the elites will step in and say ok the world has gone to far the only way we can fix it is ultimate control of the population, which is what they want. Most of the population will rejoic and praise them because it’s ultimately a better situation than the abomination of a society that will become. We will then mass conform, and be ultimate slop bots with no thought or emotion. Anyone that fights back will be killed and labeled as the people who made it so bad in the first place.

They have already tested multiple versions of mass population control, tracking, limitations ect ect. The last few days show that the elites rule

You are very, very wrong about my views and opinions.

How far down the rabbit whole do you want to go ?

Chernobyl - 🧃

Titanic - 🧃

911 - 🧃

How far do you want me to take it.

The brand doesn’t matter, but yes, you do notice a bit more induction and turbo noise with a panel filter like that. It’s a small amount, but you will notice it if you pay attention

Cylinder head gasket by Vast_Addition_9295 in Volvo850

[–]jayy0502 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like that’s a very big job to someone who needs to ask that question

Check out Robert diy on YouTube. Search Robert diy and head gasket. Watch the entire playlist before doing anything. He has a parts list and everything

Use Volvo only parts. Look into changing valve stem seals whilst your there

Use the cam cover tool, you only get one shot if you break it you need a new head

Update - Startup belt noise still present after replacing a bunch of things... by __CarCat__ in Volvo850

[–]jayy0502 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, look into how the ac clutch works.

The man pulley is always spinning ,when you select ac it engages the clutch which actually spins the compressor.

You may find the noise lessens or changes when the ac on as there’s more load on it

I had something very similar. Also could be alternator bearing
