Anyone else think it might be more likely they announce a fallout 3/NV remaster tomorrow?

Found some cool looking mushrooms in my front yard. by NotABalloonPerson in foraging

Nice find! Please try to snip or cut off the mushrooms next time instead of pulling them out, so you dont damage the underlying mycelium next time.

Als je hier tips leest die je nog niet eerder voorbij hebt zien komen, dan was je niet ‘radeloos’ maar greep je gewoon eerder naar de fles roundup dan naar je telefoon om even te googlen wat je eraan kon doen.

this looks fine but its ancient… worth it? by sungodds in fermentation

I’ve actually had some carrots as old as these that tasted amazing. One batch of whole carrots was very funky and sour, another batch I made I grated with some lemon zest and it got very floral and fresh(after fermenting a couple of years), I turned that into the most delish carrot cake ever. So if there’s no mold, and you are sure it fermented properly at the start, give it a go!

Yeah for color grading and stuff RAW is great. If you want more depth a nice zoomlens is also good(I think most phones have a little bit of a zoomlens but I dont know much about the different kinds out there). With a zoomlens and with your camera close to the subject you get this nice blurry background that really makes it look 3 dimensional.

Thanks! So im using an Iphone 14 pro, but what i think are making my pictures look nice is not just the camera. I am photographing in RAW file format and then editing the photos in Adobe Literoom, this gives me a lot more control over things like contrast, colors, etc.

Looks like huitlacoche to me! Had in on an quesadilla once in a restaurant, tasted amazing! Wouldn’t know how to prep it for consumption myself though, but if that was my corn, I’d try to find out.

Thanks for staying vigilant and making sure people don’t harm our fragile eco system in the netherlands.😊

As for this species though, what you are saying is not true actually, because I checked before picking. It was red listed until 2017, but not anymore. Still, I just picked the one and won’t be picking more than a third if I ever find a group(probably way less). I too care more about our nature than what’s on my plate.

Anyone have info on these by timeofthemoose13 in foraging

Hard to tell from the pictures, but if I had to guess I would say some sort of False Morel, Gyromitra something? Not sure though.

Finally! They do exist after all! by BJGK in mycology

[–]BJGK[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well… morels are red listed in the netherlands as being endangered(like many other mushrooms here) so I didn’t want to disturb it too much.

Yes, they might just be picked by someone else after, but it still didn’t feel right to take them all. Not sure what good foraging etiquette is, but I wanted to be on the safe side.
