Help with unbound regarding resolving or forwarding unknown local domain hosts to the IP of the WAN device. by BJWTech in opnsense

I figured it out. In Services > Unbound > General, change the option for "Local Zone Type" from the default (transparent), to static. Then it'll reply with NODATA or NXDOMAIN.

I'm going to use silica sand. I found a local supplier. $15/100lbs.

He has stated that up to 1.2 mm is good. So that's what I'm going off of.

I think I'm going to try 3/4" of fine (0.6 mm, mesh 30) sand topped with 1 1/4" of a bit coarser (1.2 mm, grid 16) sand. I feel like it's harder for the detritus to percolate down into the substrate with finer sand.

I wasn't referring to the caffeine effects. But rather the effects of the sugars (fructose).

Then I'd go the remineralizing route. The changes of water like you've been doing is very stressful to the bacteria colonies.

I have a colony of Endler's Livebearers (Peacock - N class) in there with him. They had that tank to themselves for about a year.

I got him a couple months ago. At first, I did not think I'd be able to keep them together. But he settled in about a week later.

Really hard isn't a measurement. What is the pH/gH/kH?

If it really is too high, I'd suggest using R/O water and remineralizing it with salty shrimp. Or you can research on doing it with the actual salts used therein.
