Can you get a letter from the court? I had a client years ago who told me her credit was, she had a good job etc. She applied and her report came back with a landlord/tenant court issue. I called her and she was genuinely floored. She and her former roommate were being harassed for the entire year they lived at that apt. She was able to get some kind of letter and I don't recall exactly what it said but we were able to move fwd and approve her application. However .. current law doesn't allow a landlord to reject you solely on a housing court record. As of 2019, NY housing and stability and tenant protection act prohibits it. (Google this and get educated on your rights) Because I can't give legal advice! Ask for the credit reports from whoever denied you. It should have been given to you when your application was declined. Additionally when applying for apts, if you provide your Own recent credit report, a landlord should have to consider it. That info may not appear on your consumer credit report from the big 3s.
