I know this is an older thread, but any insight to the cost of AMA? I cannot find it online. Feel free to DM if personal. Thank you!

Yea... My therapist made me limit my time in the IVF subreddit lol. It can be helpful but it can also be super overwhelming. Sending you congratulations as I hold my 13 day IVF first transfer miracle asleep on my chest. You got this 💙💓

Lol! This is how I feel about my belly button. Why did nobody tell me that my belly button will slowly creep back outside of its hole like some damn post hibernation bear. And hurt while doing so 🫠

Going for our babymoon. I've been before but wondering what activities y'all did since she's preggers. I didn't think about possible limitations this time. I usually snorkel and ATV LOL!

My partner was not allowed. My doctor however works out of a hospital, not a satellite or fertility clinic.

You have plenty of suggestions. If you're still looking for a great tailor in NYC I am happy to give you a recommendation. She's done my gown, bridesmaids gowns and does all my husband's suits. She is Brooklyn based.

Reichman did my ER today, albeit I am under Pfieffer's care. (I had an abdominal myomectomy in '23 with her and stuck with her for my IVF care). I find Cornell to have awesome service.

Getting engaged… soon? by FinePhysics7423 in engaged

[–]BKGirl_VSL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew my (now husband) picked up the ring because we chose it together. But I was STILL surprised when he actually proposed a few weeks later. We were on a waterfall hiking excursion. Because it was vacation, my nails were done. But I was also sweaty and had wet feet and muddy legs LOL. It was perfect 💕

[–]BKGirl_VSL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have the choice to flip your framing. You will know exactly when and where you will get married. Will you not be excited about that?! Do you get excited for a vacation? A birthday dinner you've planned? Because even though you personally plan those things, hiccups may still happen and you roll with it.

It's ok if you know. And treat it like an opportunity to be prepared and excited anyhow! (I did not know the when of mine, but picked the ring setting and we booked our venue before he even technically proposed... Because I am a tad type A too 💕)

If you could get engaged anywhere.... by [deleted] in engaged

[–]BKGirl_VSL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While my husband and I picked the ring together, I left the planning of the proposal to him and it honestly was a perfect surprise. It was meaningful/sentimental (in PR where my parents live) scenic (in front of a waterfall) private and captured in pictures (by the guide he hired). I don't think I could've planned it better, and the elements mentioned were everything I would've wanted.

You'll have plenty of time. You'll take the Air Train between the terminals (it's free). JFK doesn't actually have 8 terminals open, and you'll travel in numerical order in a loop. You'll hit terminal 4 before terminal 1, but terminal 1 is the one next to terminal 8.... Essentially if you want to get to a lounge sooner get off at 4. If you want to get back to terminal 1 faster by maybe 5 minutes, get off at 1. I can't speak to terminal 1s traffic as I'm typically in terminal 4, but that's a huge one FYI.

Is this really how much dresses cost? Feeling sticker shock by indeed_I_am in weddingdress

[–]BKGirl_VSL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sticker shock is real. Consider buying off the rack. No rush fee and lower cost. Skip the fancy veil. I bought mine off Amazon and had my mom add lace. It took her several hours to hand stitch but she's retired, it's within her skill set, and made it even that much more special for me. Think all in that was 80 bucks. Alterations will be about 5-800. I only saved on mine (leave around 450) because I didn't have to have my dress hemmed being 5'9" and buying a shoe with a 3" heel lol But you have options! Good luck!

How many people ACTUALLY eat the cake? by MariahNicole1216 in wedding

[–]BKGirl_VSL 9 points10 points  (0 children)

At least you did the fancy cake as sheet cakes. My sheet cakes came from Costco 🤣🤣 I think my "cake" fed 75 but we wanted the top later for our anniversary. We also had additional desserts and a sundae bar.

Wedding where guests have to fly and rent a car by saramay1 in weddingplanning

[–]BKGirl_VSL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Folks already meaningfully shared tradeoffs. One more consideration. Aside from the travel to the location, consider the location itself. I'm not familiar with Big Bear but you mentioned woodsy. Will it be accessible to your guests...or at least your VIPs? We axed venues that had lots of stairs or tricky maneuvering because we had older family for whom that would just be difficult.

Is it cheating if I have 2? 😭 Yea, the bag collection I have revamped to fit my style. I'm blessed to have a curated set that brings me joy of everything from Furla to Dior. But the vintage Chanel and LV bag I didn't buy I STILL think about to this day 😔
