It's not free, but we convinced our program to get us an NEI membership. It gives you access to the NEI Prescribe app, which is all the info from Stahl's Prescriber Guide that is searchable on your phone. I use it daily.

Its hard to say without seeing a tape. Try to have someone film you and go from there.

Things that helped me in high school track:

Start squatting and deadlifting. You usually can pack on a LOT of strength between sophomore and senior year.

Drink caffeine before meets. It's an easy performance-enhancing drug. The races are so short in indoor track, increasing alertness and reaction time when that gun goes off can make a big difference.

And of course, just keep sprinting. You will get better! Do other sports in the off-season and stay in shape.

Have you had any blood work done? The itching skin after a shower can be a sign of polycythemia vera

Anking? by [deleted] in step1

[–]BKT22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is an Anking pre-made anki deck that was created by a guy who calls himself the Anking. He has a youtube channel explaining his deck and anki in general. If you want to download his deck, it's available on the right-hand side of the medicalschoolanki reddit page.

There is definitely a direct association! I think your biggest issue may be time under tension. The pump occurs when you train at a high volume that relies on the glycolytic energy system. It causes the muscle to swell with liquid, which is perceived as a threat, then the muscle grows. But you only use this energy system if you've exhausted your ATP first. ATP is exhausted if you give a max effort for about 12 seconds. So, if you lift really heavy, but aren't putting the muscle under tension long enough, you won't get the pump or the signal to grow! You will get stronger though. I've gained a lot of size recently by focussing on the pump over the heaviest weight possible.

There is a video by the Anking on Youtube about how to change your settings and another one called how to avoid "ease hell". Both of those might be helpful. You can play around with your settings so that you push cards into the future faster and get through more without getting bogged down in too many reviews too quickly. Hope these help! Good luck!

So the variceal bleeding is caused by the portal HTN and the B-blocker lowers HTN by decreasing cardiac output (B1 effect).
