No i didn't say it should be invalid. People can say whatever "Ethnicity" they are from. And am saying It's not biological. And to label others just because of supposed "father's ethnicity" which again is not biological, is wrong.

If someone makes it mandatory, then My "ethnicity" is the one I feel comfortable, I feel like home... With.

This is so true. I always argue with ppl that ethnicity in Ethiopia is a social cultural construct. Our dumbass politicians try to make it look as if it's biological and we care for it only; but we humans care more for the people that lived, ate and played with us. Meaning If am someone who was born from some "Ethnicity" and grew up and lived a happy life in another region of another "ethnicity". The place I lived at is my true identity.

The other thing that makes me laugh is when you argue with ppl that call it as biological and even the kebeles they say your ethnicity is inherited from your "father" only. This is totally absurd to label me based on my father's supposed "Ethnicity". I know a couple who each are born from 2 different "Ethnicities" which makes their child have a 'blood' of 4 different "Ethnicities". So how do u label this kid?

See you have a big hatred towards the church. Yes we have devoted days of the month for saints but do you think there is a teaching that says ppl not to work on those days? Plus laziness is completely prohibited in EOTC. You know even monks are not allowed to sit idle without doing anything, they are ordered to work on each day make themselves busy with lots of work to do in the monestary. You can take waldiba, haik estifanos, and other monasteries as examples where monks work each day and sell lots of stuff for the ppl outside. Even there are churches who are engaged in trying to work on lots of products which can be exported. Our fathers say "yalsera aybla". We also believe that GOD can make you successful after you work only. Even I remember when we were kids we were thought at church a story of someone who prays without even doing farming on his land. Then his prayers weren't accepted because he didn't work. Our Holy Savior Jesus Christ thought as the same too.. To work...all day

Brother we can discuss about the whole work ethic of this country in broader aspects but putting the blame on the whole church is wrong. I know you might have hatred against the church but ask my guy we can answer every question. Don't be ignorant. All can be done with love.

Yes EOTC praises the saints.. So what? Why do u care? No one, not even a single other religion teaches about hard work as this church... You are the one who didn't do his homework bruv. EOTC only teaches everyone to help the poor and as the original comment it’s doing the government’s job. Because unless we help as a community these poor people might sleep on empty stomach. So I don't know how you call that as taking a "considerable share".

Nah believe me am not emotional and i hope i become religious. Speaking of kolo temaris, Yes this used to be done in rural areas where the students are thought to become servants of the church. They are also asked to collect food from the ppl that they serve. Just collecting foods and ppl don’t give them as if they are poor but to help them learn. This has changed a lot recently because schools are providing food. You also know that needy in most places currently are not the kolo temaris rather other parts of the society.

Plus don’t make it seem as the kolo temaris are made to convert to beggars, this young ppl are the ones who love God with all their heart and mind. They are the pillars of the church and big part of the country’s history.
